Step into Restaurant Gandhi and the cobblestone streets of Old Montreal give way to the fragrant spices and the aromatic flavours of the Asian subcontinent. Traditional Indian music plays as you dine, providing a gentle serenade to accompany your meal.

Unlike most indian restaurants, you will feel like you're dining al fresco: soft light, bistro-style tables with crisp white lines, and the yellow walls with their window-like cubby holes recall a sunset over the Ganges half a world away. Visiting from the USA & wanted to try different foods in Canada. By far, this Indian Restaurant was the best. Atmosphere was welcoming. My family ordered Naan, Agneu Tikka, Buttered Chicken, Agneu Korahi & Shrimp Malai. Food was excellent!! Flavors were there & loved every bite. Sauces for each dish were excellent. I would definitely come back if we visit again. Highly recommended!

The food was okay, but expensive. It was unexpected & weird to find bell peppers in my mattar paneer (I'm allergic). The service was mixed. Our departing exchange with the busser was bizarre. He asked if the woman I was with was my mother. I said yes. Then asked if she was like 80 or something (she isn't & doesn't look it), & when I pointed out that it was generally considered rude to comment on someone's age, he just weirdly laughed & said'yeah, I know'. It was very awkward for my mother & I, & absolutely unnecessary.

We are vacationing in Montreal. By far the best meal we have had while we were here. We had the most delicious curry lamb we have ever tasted- it has a perfect blend of spicy & sweet. We ordered an appetizer of an assortment of tandoori chicken, & many other wonderful taste treats. Truly amazing! I only wish this restaurant was close by! Highly recommend Gandhi!
