Step into Restaurant Gandhi and the cobblestone streets of Old Montreal give way to the fragrant spices and the aromatic flavours of the Asian subcontinent. Traditional Indian music plays as you dine, providing a gentle serenade to accompany your meal.

Unlike most indian restaurants, you will feel like you're dining al fresco: soft light, bistro-style tables with crisp white lines, and the yellow walls with their window-like cubby holes recall a sunset over the Ganges half a world away. The staff are very nice, clean lovely restaurant but we didn't love the dishes we ordered. All the sauces with the app we're sweet. The tikka masala also was very sweet tasted like ground up raisins. The naan was good & we ordered another chicken dish that was spicy ands delicious so 50-50…

The worst butter chicken i have ever had in my life. super sweet, as if the gravy has sugar instead of salt.
i would also like to mention the portion size are really small, given the price. so be mindful of that.
The garlic naans are good though.
One thing that really was a led down was the waiting time for food as well as the bill to arrive. felt like an eternity.

Restaurant Gandhi was the perfect place to dine at! We were quickly brought to a table & given waters as well as a free starter. Then the staff came to take our order & responded very carefully to our questions. The food came out quick as well as the appetizers. Throughout our dining experience, they kept refilling our waters & checking up on us. When we finished they brought us a wet towel which was very refreshing! I definitely reccomend dining here, the hospitality is amazing & staff are so kind. The food was delicious, I highly reccomend the cheese naan as well as the butter chicken & l'agneau tikka. You will not regret dining here!

Disappointing experience. Food was way too sweet for some reason & butter chicken too watery. Service was almost awkward & super minimal, mostly single words, not even hi or welcome. Feels like a standard tourist spot where they don't expect people back. Plateau has way better Indian restaurants with charm. Sorry, was not impressed at all

Aromatic, well seasoned & fresh ingredient. Highly recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala, Saag Paneer & Baingan Bharta. Attentive service & well situated in historic Montreal. Note: no alcohol.

You know how sometimes you eat a restaurant while traveling & then dream about going back? This is the place. We were here seven years ago, & have been dreaming about coming back since. We went out of our way to travel here again, & were not disappointed in the least!
The food is phenomenal. We had the fish masala & the Chicken Tandoori this time. Both were outstanding.
The restaurant is comfortable & clean.
I hope we won't have to wait another seven years to come again!
