Step into Restaurant Gandhi and the cobblestone streets of Old Montreal give way to the fragrant spices and the aromatic flavours of the Asian subcontinent. Traditional Indian music plays as you dine, providing a gentle serenade to accompany your meal.

Unlike most indian restaurants, you will feel like you're dining al fresco: soft light, bistro-style tables with crisp white lines, and the yellow walls with their window-like cubby holes recall a sunset over the Ganges half a world away. Nous sommes allées à ce restaurant dans le cadre de Mtl à table. L'apéritif était bon & permet de rendre l'attente avant l'entrée courte ! Comme entrée j'avais pris les beignets d'oignons frits qui étaient vraiment bien croustillants & la salade servie avec était bonne. Par contre ca manquait un peu de sauce & arrivée au 3ème beignet ça commence à faire lourd & ça donne soif sans sauce. Le plat qui était un poulet au beurre était juste délicieux on pense que la portion est petite mais avec le pain naan fait maison c'est juste parfait je n'ai même pas réussi à le terminé ! Le poulet aurait pu être un peu plus tendre mais comme il y a beaucoup de sauce c'est pas si gênant. Par contre le dessert je n'ai pas du tout aimé. J'ai mangé un peu du gâteau à la noix de coco mais au bout d'un moment je trouvais ça sec & le beignet au fromage ne me plaisait pas du tout ... Le service était très courtois & surtout rapide. On a passé une excellente soirée. J'avoue que je trouve ça un brin dommage que la musique ne soit pas dans le thème du restaurant il y a tellement pleins de musiques indiennes dy style Bollywood c'est dommage d'entendre des ballades françaises un brin déprimantes ... Je recommande quand même ce restaurant pour les plats & les entrées !

So we went to Gandhi on the dated recommendation of friends. The food was good but way, way overpriced! $9 for a small bowl of rice! The butter chicken was ok but there were 9 pieces of chicken. Way overpriced. We had a fantastic dinner at a similar sized place in New York that was far more reasonably priced. Not worth the money.

Accueil parfait. Cuisine très parfumée, épices bien équilibrées, le tout servi impécablement par des serveurs souriants & prévenants. On est véritablement Servis chez Gandhi, ce qui est plutôt rare même dans les restaurants renommés.
Nous étions dans la deuxième salle assez bruyante à cause des grandes tables pour les groupes. Cette salle bénéficierait d'une redisposition ou d'une amélioration de l'insonorisation pour plus de confort.

It's by far the best indian food in Montreal. The staff is amazing. The owner is always there to great you & makes sure your experience & food is perfect.
I am always impressed by their hospitality & the quality of their food.

Le meilleur restaurant indien à Montréal & mon restaurant préféré depuis plus d'une décennie. Le service est impeccable, les portions sont parfaites, le menu est très varié & la qualité des plats est sans pareille.
