Step into Restaurant Gandhi and the cobblestone streets of Old Montreal give way to the fragrant spices and the aromatic flavours of the Asian subcontinent. Traditional Indian music plays as you dine, providing a gentle serenade to accompany your meal.

Unlike most indian restaurants, you will feel like you're dining al fresco: soft light, bistro-style tables with crisp white lines, and the yellow walls with their window-like cubby holes recall a sunset over the Ganges half a world away. We flew in from Washington State today & didn't know where to eat. We passed Gandhi on the street & had to go in. The food was so good & the staff were so friendly. My Mom loved the Tandoori chicken, my Dad loved the butter chicken, & I enjoyed my samosas. We were so happy we stopped in!

A hidden gem in Montreal!

If you're craving Indian food that doesn't hold back on spice or flavor, Ghandi is the spot. I've eaten my fair share of curries, but this was hands down the hottest, spiciest, & most delicious I've ever had. The depth of flavor in each dish was incredible-rich, smoky, perfectly balanced heat that keeps you going back for more (even while breaking a sweat!).

The chicken curry we had, Madras & another specialty, were unforgettable-tender, generously portioned, & swimming in a sauce so bold it demanded every grain of basmati rice to soak it up. The samosas were crisp & golden, filled with spiced potato goodness, & paired beautifully with their chutneys. Everything felt authentic, prepared with care, & served with a warm hospitality that made the experience even better.

Ghandi may be a bit tucked away, but it deserves a spotlight. If you love Indian food-or you think you can handle spice-this is a must-visit in Montreal.
