Franklin's Subs and Suds is located on St-Paul street in Old-Montreal. Delicious "Philly Cheesesteak" submarines are the main attraction. The decor is very comforting, you'll find arcades, beautifully designed graffiti and great ambient music.
Reviews describe a lively casual spot in the Old Port with strong drinks, quick service and a menu that shines on smoked meat sandwiches, poutine and burgers, delivering solid value and a welcoming vibe. The atmosphere ranges from cozy to energetic, aided by retro decor, music and a bar scene that makes it easy to hang out. The staff are described as attentive and friendly, providing fast service and helpful recommendations. While experiences are mostly positive, some notes mention crowding, noise and occasional variability in dishes such as the poutine. Overall Franklin's is seen as a reliable choice for lunch or a casual night out in Montreal, offering memorable smoked meat and good drinks with a lively social vibe.
Great little spot in Montreal to go to with the lads. Nice choice of fastfood (the philly steak n cheese sub is amazing), great beer & a waitress with a tiny dress. Top!
Franklin's in Old Port, Montreal, is a must-visit! I tried their fried chicken burger, & it was delicious. Paired it with a milkshake & crispy fries. Great vibe with hockey on TV - perfect for hanging out with friends. I'll be back for sure!

On avait faim, les portions sont copieuses.
Par contre, un cheasesteak avec du cheeseWiz, c’est degueu, merci d’utiliser le provolone !
& puis la musique, punaise on se croirait dans une discothèque. Ça gâche l’expérience de manger.
First introduction into - Poutine - had the Mexican toppings - sorry but i don’t get it
it tastes & looks like I’m eating something that I’d just finished eating if you know what I mean 😉 or maybe just maybe I hadn’t had enough suds yet?
Service was warm & friendly you gotta try it

1st time trying Montreal poutine... i got their smoked meat. It was salty, sauggy, & not even close to being good.. I say that Wendy's makes better poutine. So disappointed with this Montreal iconic food.
J'ai commandé en ligne, donc impossible d'évaluer le restaurant, mais j'ai mangé des sous-marins de cafétéria grandement meilleurs que ceux-ci & il manquait la salade & les tomates (la base quoi)...
I've got to give this 5 stars even though it's probably a 3.5/4 at present. The reason I am giving 5 stars is to counteract some of the low-starred reviews which seem spiteful or to have unrealistic expectations. Here's why:
This is a very, very good sandwich of beef, onion, & cheese sauce on a soft "hoagie"-style roll. It is very well-prepared, very tasty, & the price is more than fair. I have had hundreds, if not thousands, of sandwiches in this city I enjoyed less than that. So I have to call it like I see it.
Service was good but the decor is nightmarish. Bro, it ain't working, bro. When people start their experience in your restaurant by feeling like they're taken some bad acid they're going to be less predisposed to leave you good reviews. It's 101, bro.
Très bon service & nourriture, le sandwich philly est trop bon & les frite sont magnifiques & faut pas oublier les sauce qui sont à ce lécher les doigts.
