Franklin's Subs and Suds is located on St-Paul street in Old-Montreal. Delicious "Philly Cheesesteak" submarines are the main attraction. The decor is very comforting, you'll find arcades, beautifully designed graffiti and great ambient music.
Reviews describe a lively casual spot in the Old Port with strong drinks, quick service and a menu that shines on smoked meat sandwiches, poutine and burgers, delivering solid value and a welcoming vibe. The atmosphere ranges from cozy to energetic, aided by retro decor, music and a bar scene that makes it easy to hang out. The staff are described as attentive and friendly, providing fast service and helpful recommendations. While experiences are mostly positive, some notes mention crowding, noise and occasional variability in dishes such as the poutine. Overall Franklin's is seen as a reliable choice for lunch or a casual night out in Montreal, offering memorable smoked meat and good drinks with a lively social vibe.
Had the Old Port Poutine & the strawberry milkshake. The poutine was a very big portion & milkshake was perfect. Great people watching & close to Port.
Chicken poutine I had was stellar. Service was subpar with our waiter being a little bit lacking. Atmosphere was great but could use some variety in music while dining.
We got a smoked meat poutine to go, & it was perfect as a late night snack. The portion was huge - too much for one person, & best shared with another person (unless you're really hungry & looking for a meal!) I liked how it wasn't too salty, unlike many other poutines that I've tried before.
Go here! Really low key, casual, good value & fun atmosphere. The smoked meat poutine was the best I've had & I've tried a lot of poutine. People behind us came in & out with tour guides just to pick up the poutine to-go on their tour so that tells you it's a spot worth going to. Our waiter was even kind enough to change out a bill for us to have enough bus fare (they only take coins unless you buy a pass). I'd definitely recommend Franklins & go again.
We saw this place while walking earlier around old Montreal, we wanted to come at night for burgers, their menu is very affordable but also vert small, the burgers are simple but delicious. Their cocktails were om, my husband had an old fashion, it was good, but my Mule was very dull, not a trace of that ginger kick. I wish we tried the poutine or their Philly cheesesteak, it seems that it was their most popular dish. ❤️ the service was perfect. Thank u !

Foncez! 😀
So great! Love this place. Hot dogs were ON fire & the poutine was like a bottomless pit of love & excellence. The bartender was nicer than anyone I have met in the service industry for quite some time.
Tristan was very nice & accommodating. He had really great playlist on & the poutine was good as hell!!!! I recommend to stop in on the weekday & weekends. You'll be completely satisfied.
Came to Franklin's with my mom & had an amazing time. I've never had a more delicious Hot dog!! We also ordered fried pickles & poutine & everything was a 10. Tristan did a great job attending us & was very nice. Thank you Franklin's! Hope to be back soon.
Great place for drinks & grub. You can watch the game & get either crafted drinks made by JF or just draft beer & a shot of Jim beam. Had the poutines & fried pickles. JF made the experience with his friendly service & hockey knowledge!!
In town for a St Louis Blues vs Habs. Stopped by for a round of drinks & lunch. What a cool place thanks to JF the bartender who took excellent care of our party of 6. The wall of playboy magazine covers is a unique touch. The Mexican poutine was a special app! 🔥
