Franklin's was my very first stop right after landing in Montreal, & it set a fantastic tone for the trip. I ordered the classic smoked meat sandwich along with the chicken poutine. Both were delicious, though the smoked meat sandwich was easily the star of the show-perfectly spiced, tender, & an absolute must-try. The atmosphere here is undeniably lively & somewhat rowdy, making it clear right away that this is a very casual spot. Despite the constant rush, the employees were wonderfully attentive, welcoming, & made sure everyone was taken care of. The only reason I am holding back a full five-star rating comes down to the temperature inside. It was extremely hot & uncomfortable during my visit. Their setup involves keeping the doors wide open-partly to draw in passersby from the street & to connect with their small outdoor seating area. However, the ceiling fans inside provided virtually no relief or airflow, & with no AC running, sitting indoors felt stifling. Other than the heat, it was a memorable meal. I would still highly recommend stopping by-just be prepared that if you visit on a warm day, it might get uncomfortable inside. Get the smoked meat sandwich & you will not be disappointed!

I stopped by Franklin's for takeout & had mixed feelings about the meal. The smoked meat sandwich was a bit disappointing as the meat wasn't very tender & lacked the texture I was expecting. The burger was decent, but nothing that really stood out.

The highlight of the meal was definitely the poutine. It was fresh, flavorful, & easily the best part of the order.

Overall, it wasn't a bad experience, but based on this visit I'd probably come back for the poutine rather than the smoked meat.

Expérience absolument incroyable chez Franklin's dans le Vieux-Montréal. On est venus pour regarder le match de la Coupe du Monde entre l'Argentine & l'Algérie, & dès le moment où on a franchi la porte, Kevin & Yessen ont été absolument incroyables. Gros sourires, énergie contagieuse, bières bien froides servies rapidement, & ils nous ont fait sentir les bienvenus immédiatement.

L'ambiance était électrique. La foule était intense, passionnée, complètement investie dans le match. Honnêtement, c'est exactement le genre d'endroit où tout le monde est là pour la même chose : passer un moment mémorable.

Si vous êtes à Montréal & que vous cherchez l'endroit parfait pour regarder un match de la Coupe du Monde, arrêtez de chercher. Je ne pourrais pas recommander un meilleur endroit. Service exceptionnel, staff incroyable, ambiance parfaite, & une expérience tout simplement géniale.

Franklin's a été complètement incroyable. On va revenir, c'est certain.

Franklin's was recommend to me at another bar for the good vibes & good food when you're enjoying the nightlife in Old Montreal. It lived up to the recommendation as the food was great & the vibes were amazing! The mesh of fun & retro styles works so well, making Franklin's welcoming & wonderful to spend a few hours drinking & eating.

Our server Kevin was amazing & so accommodating as he dealt with the busy bar on a Saturday night during a playoff game! He gave great drink recommendations & made sure we were taken care of & made sure we had everything we needed/wanted! He was so incredible as we watched the chaos of a night while in Montreal.

I completely recommend going when you're around Old Montreal anytime during the day but night especially! Great drunk food, amazing staff & generally wonderful vibes from Franklins!

On the last day of a bachelorette trip, we explored Old Montreal & stumbled upon Franklins. The space was eclectic with such a great atmosphere. There were 13 of us, & the food came out incredibly fast, every single one of us was obsessed with how good everything tasted (their cheesy burger tastes like shake shack).

Beyond the amazing service, I unfortunately left my wallet at the restaurant & didn't realize until I was already back in Toronto. Theo & Jeff went above & beyond to track me down & ship it back to me. I've rarely experienced that level of care & kindness. I'm so grateful!

Visiting Montreal for an Orchestra tour, had a local recommend Franklin's & it lived up to expectation! The service was fast, atmosphere was fun, & food was amazing. Our server, Jeff was very kind & welcoming, & overall we had an amazing experience. 10/10 would recommend.

We were exploring old Montreal & came across Franklin's, decided to go in for smoked meat sandwiches, because you just gotta.

Franklin's has a really good vibe inside - cool retro décor & good music that makes it a nice place to hang out. Service was great: friendly staff & very quick, which we appreciated.

Food-wise, it was mixed. The smoked meat was just okay & quite fatty, which took away from it, & not much flavour. Fries were tasty & probably the highlight. The poutine, however, was also just okay & didn't really stand out.

Overall, nothing was bad, but nothing impressed enough to recommend it either. I wouldn't tell people to stay away, but I wouldn't go out of my way to suggest it.

I had such a great experience at Franklin's Pub, & it was all because of a Jeff. He surprised me with a drink he made just for me, & it was honestly amazing, easily one of the best drinks I've had in a long time. You could tell he really put thought into it, & it showed in every sip.

Beyond the drink itself, Jeff was just genuinely kind, welcoming, & fun to talk to. He made the whole experience feel personal, not rushed or transactional. It's people like him who make you want to come back to a place again & again.

If you're at Franklin's Pub, make sure you stop by the bar & say hi to Jeff. He truly makes the place better.
