Nice little hidden gem in Chinatown. The food was really good, felt like fine dining without the fine dining price. There are many great options to choose from & almost everything was very tasty. Reservations are definitely required for this place. The service was good, courteous & knowledgeable.
We ordered the chicken namban, agedashi tofu, donburi, sea urchin butter with bread & the lamb ramen. The ramen was the highlight for us, it was really flavorful & brought us back to Japan. The sea urchin was very tasty too, but if didn't feel like it had all that much seaurchin in the dish to be called a sea urchin dish. The donburi was also very tasty, though the nori was stale & took quite a bit of chewing. The tofu & the chicken namban were my least favorite. The tofu was a bit plain, though the sauce was very tasty. The chicken was a bit mushy & didn't really fit the rest of the meal, where everything was very well crafted.View more

The sashimi was a mix of hits & misses,the scallops were especially fresh & delicious, but the salmon was not fresh at all. The Agedashi Tofu was excellent, & the duck dish was also quite good. The environment is fair; a bit old & not particularly Japanese in style, but still acceptable. However, the biggest downside was the price,portions were quite small, making it feel overpriced for what we received.View more

Very innovative culinary experience in a fun atmosphere. We did the $70 tasting menu & it was more than we could eat. I did find it odd that they started with fried chicken & then moved to lighter vegetarian & fish fare, but most plates were delicious & there were many unexpected flavours. My only complaint would be about the booking process, which required a credit card & also filling out a questionnaire, which felt excessive. The email confirmation actually used the phrase that my reservation had been'received & APPROVED' - which just felt a bit arrogant. It's a restaurant, not a job application.View more

Love this spot. Highly recommend for a date night - sitting at the bar & watching the magic happen. The food is delicious & so worth the price. The atmosphere is great & the service is always very kind & attentive. The bar downstairs is also a very fun time to dance the night away when you're done eating.View more

Wow! I am a relatively picky eater & even I can appreciate this is great food even if a lot of the flavours were out of my comfort zone. Super flavourful unique dishes. Expensive for the portion size but honestly that's what you pay at these kinds of restaurants. In my opinion, the flavour & quality of food is worth the $. Service is very attentive & you always feel taken care of. Ambiance is very nice with one of the waiters/managers being the DJ constantly providing the vibe 🤑🤑 Yummy would go back!!!View more

Ramen was good, they say very traditional Japanese, Ramen with lamb was 4.5. Udon is terrible, like puke terrible.
Service was hard selling & unprofessional.
