Going to be dreaming of this food for weeks… The food, the service, the hospitality & the authentic Afghan food are second to none at Fenetres sur Kaboul. You can truly feel the soul of the restaurant through the perfectly seasoned meals & through the wonderful staff. I could really feel the warmth & tradition throughout the whole dining experience. Literally hands down the meat dish I've ever had. I was legit having a foodgasm when eating the Zardak Chalow! It is a veal dish with carrots much like a curry, very soft & full of rich flavours that melt together in your mouth. The accompanying salad & rice was nice as well with a hint of sumac, goji berries & saffron. The black tea was also good & cardamom & other spices. Overall highly recommend !!!Voir plus

What a great restaurant! Very charming atmosphere! Food was amazing! My husband was dragging his feet, not wanting to try something new. He was very glad we did! Our waitress was great at explaining the different menu options, etc. She was telling us that her Mom is the cook/owner. Also great that you can bring your own wine. This restaurant here became my favorite in Montreal!! This a must go restaurant if you ever in Montreal or live here it's a must!! I loveeeeee the food!!! Everything on the menu was delicious!! My family loved the place! I would definitely recommend this amazing restaurant! It really feels like home!! The owner & the staff are so welcoming & so friendly! The hospitality was off the charts! Really beautiful place & delicious food! The service was slow because there was only 2 servers for the whole restaurant but overall the food made up for it. Not many vegetarian options but the one I got was delicious either way! Everything tasted fresh, I'm really glad we took the chance on a new restaurant! The service was really really great. The server took the time to explain which dishes he recommends, & he was absolutely correct. The lamb is marinated very well, the rice is perfect, & the tea after the meal was a very nice touch for an unbeatable price.Voir plus

This is one of the best restaurants I've been to in Montreal, a real hidden gem. The food was delicious whether you choose a traditional dish or grilled & the service was simply wonderful. My family & I tried 4 entrees, 3 main dishes & their ice cream. For the first time in a long time, we were all very very happy with every single one. What I found very nice was that the owners were present & would take the time to ask each table for feedback, making sure everyone leaves happy. A nice family business that's passionate about what they do!

Fenetre sur Kaboul was recommended to my friends & I during our trip to Montreal. We came on a busy Saturday night but were accommodated quickly by very friendly staff. My friends had never had Afghan food & didn't know what to order but our waiter made excellent recommendations. For appetizers we ordered bolani, mantu, badengan borani (eggplant) & shor nakhot with pakora (their special of the weekend.) Everyone enjoyed the appetizers. We then ordered Kaboul Kabob (a combination of three different Kabobs: Lamb, Chicken, & beef.) It was an amazing plate! We also ordered a "curiosity plate" with samples of several different dishes. This was a very good idea because everything on the plate was delicious. Their serving sizes are generous. Then we moved to their Tea lounge for dessert & tea. We ordered their homemade Afghan ice cream, "Sheer yakh", & it was amazing. We also ordered some creme rolls that went perfectly with tea.
I highly recommend this restaurant. We will definitely visit again when we are in Montreal.
