I normally don't order rice dishes & eat very small servings of rice, but I wanted to try the traditional Iraqi dishes. The lady allowed me to choose 3 different rice base for my plate, I think they were: Mandi, Quzi, Maqluba. I chose the smokey lamb to go on top.& I finished all of it, that's how good it was (coming from someone who avoids rice). The rice was moist, fluffy, tender & bursting with flavours from the cooked combination of aromatic spices, mingled with slivers of almonds & raisins, roasted vegetables & one of the dish had a distinct smokiness to it, as if it's been cooked on wooden fire on the sandy banks of a Mesopotamian river lined with palm trees. The meat was very tender, like it's been roasted then braised. 11/10 overall, highly recommended.
The food didn't taste fresh. The lamb plate was just ok. The bamia stew had only two small pieces of meat in it! What a waste of money…
Never again…
we ordered quzi lamb & beef maqluba! perfect servings! perfect taste! authentic! kibbeh is sooooo tasty! i love it! dolma is amazing! im so impressed!

The food is incredibly fresh & tasty! I had maqluba with lamb, potato kibba, & tabbouleh. They even gave us dolma & different rice to try-everything was amazing. Warm welcome & excellent service!
Ouf!
It was my first experience trying Iraqi food, & it was soo satisfying.
It all starts with the welcoming people, great lady, helping me to pick the right choice; she even offered a bit of all 4 flavoured rice to taste.
You can instantly notice the cleanliness of the place.
& then the food, it was a generous meal, tasty rice, & the lamb meat, sooo tender with all the spices & flavors.
Finally, they offer tea or coffee.
An absolute must to visit.
Montreal's Homestyle Iraqi Comfort Food
If you're craving real Iraqi home cooking in Montreal, Feenah Takeout is the one. Tucked away in Ahuntsic, it's the only place I've come across serving up traditional, homestyle Iraqi meals… & you can truly taste the love in every bite.
It was my first time trying Iraqi food, & I was so pleasantly surprised. Feenah (which I believe is a type of hat in Iraq) is family-run, & that warmth comes through in everything, from the flavors to the portions to the service.
The rice & meat combos are where they shine.
• The spicy beef biryani was my personal favorite , deeply flavorful & perfectly seasoned.
• I had a rice dish with potato & chicken that was pure comfort.
• & the lamb? Fall-apart tender.
Don't skip the sides:
• Olive salad - bright, briny, & bold
• Creamy hummus - smooth & satisfying
• Potato salad - rich & homey
• Iraqi style Tabouleh - fresh, herby, & zesty
If you're in the neighborhood, don't sleep on this one. Feenah is the real deal: generous portions, rich flavors, & a soulful taste of Iraqi tradition you won't find anywhere else in the city.

I'm usually very picky about what I enjoy from take-out, but let me tell u guys, the food was incredible. The service was great, they took time to give us advice & explained what was every meal that we asked about. We took lamb, chicken, dolma, hummus, patato salad & a dozen of mixed delicacies & we enjoyed every piece of it. Each one had a distinct flavor & we enjoyed every one. Honestly, if you don't give it a try, you're missing out!
What! L'ambiance & chicken. Had in one day 2 different lamb dishes 2 chicken dishes, egg plant side dishes x 2 yogurt drink. Will be back!
