The food is good.
But, the service is very poor.
Placed an order at 6:30. Waited 50 minutes for my food. Almost cancelled my order.
It's summer.. Wellington Street is closed. They need to hire more staff..
What an amazing place the sandwiches & fries are delicious. After 7 years leaving in the Well I try this place for first time & I love it 🥰
It's not common to find a restaurant that specializes in Falafel, it's typically the veg option at your typical shawarma spot, where it doesn't always get the loving preparation that it does here at Falafel Yoni. It is a focused menu with only two sandwich types, I went for the traditional falafel sandwich that they built their name on. This sandwich was so fresh, delicious & satisfying. The vege topping portion is great, makes it a lot leaner than most sandwich restaurants & you can taste the lack of grease. Price point is medium-high. Seating is interestingly arranged on both sides of the entrance. Service here was not poor by any means, but due to the size of the shop I was overhearing the employees banter throughout my meal which detracted from the atmosphere a bit. Highly enjoyable falafel sandwich.
The Falafel Yoni kiosk in the outside portion of Marche Atwater is just another smart addition to a collection of good eateries including Satay Bros ,a smoked barbeque unit,le petite Sao,fresh nuts & Smoothies. On a sunny warm day the vibe is great, people eating, diversity, romantic hustle & onlookers from the full time vendors eating & talking on the large number of clean benches & tables. The smell of the barbeque & in contrast the sweet smell of flowers & plants is oddly inviting during the early summer rush for garden adornment.
I knew of Falafel Yoni from reputation & my review of Pizza Toni. Both have the same owner.
Their Falafel pita,I believe,is Israeli style with lots of red cabbage, onion, fresh Falafel balls, chick pea sauce served in a sizable pita pocket. Spiciness is according to taste & client specific at time of order .
Two things stand out of my recent experience. There was a wait line by number & 8 orders were filled within 10 minutes.
I also brought the pita sandwich home to share with my wife. The content is filling & when shared it can be a meal for 2 at $13
The only caveat is that the falafels were not evenly distributed & my wife got fewer balls than me on the divide of the sandwich
Oh well, such is life!! enjoy
