Shoutout to Daniel for the amazing service today, he was super nice & running the whole place by himself. The food was great as always, but he really made the experience even better! Thank you, Daniel :)
Such a yummy spot & fresh falafels. Definitely going to have to come back for more pitas
Fresh & authentic falafel, amazing creamy hoummus & Shnitzel pita was very tasty. I was curious about the zaatar fries & didn't find it that great(might be also that the fries were not fresh?) I prefer zaatar on pita which they had & it was good.
Best hummus I've ever had by far! Everything tastes super fresh & flavorful. Great portion size. Already ate this twice this week. Really glad to have discovered this spot :)
I have been to felafel Yoni at 2 locations ( Atwater & Saint Viateur). I absolutely love their felafel, it is by far my favourite felafel in the city. They always use fresh ingredients. Their schug sauce adds that extra umph to their felafel sandwich. Their Limonana is so fresh & delicious! My only negative comment is they do not wear gloves when preparing your food. When I was at the Atwater location, I asked if they wear gloves while preparing the sandwiches & I was told that they wash their hands. The person preparing the sandwiches did not have her hair tied back, her hair was hanging over the food prep station. It was the first time I did not order my sandwich from felafel Yoni. Gloves are a must.
If you are looking for a snack or a meal, you have to check this place out. The food is incredibly delicious, healthy & fresh. It was the best felafel I've had. The personnel are friendly & courteous. I will go back soon. Try out their dessert, too.
It had been a while since I last visited this spot, my last time was in Mile End, & I remembered loving their pitas. But on this hot summer day, my friend & I were craving something lighter, so we went for a salad… & let me tell you, it did not disappoint.
The portion was huge, definitely one to share. Shout-out to the employee who recommended we split it, because we were about to order one each! The veggies were incredibly fresh, the falafels perfectly crisp, & the sauce? To die for.
The whole team was super friendly & welcoming. Special shout-out to Nathan (aka Nate) who had such a great vibe, filled our water bottles, & gave us amazing service.
I'll absolutely be coming back, for both that salad & the good energy!
It's not common to find a restaurant that specializes in Falafel, it's typically the veg option at your typical shawarma spot, where it doesn't always get the loving preparation that it does here at Falafel Yoni. It is a focused menu with only two sandwich types, I went for the traditional falafel sandwich that they built their name on. This sandwich was so fresh, delicious & satisfying. The vege topping portion is great, makes it a lot leaner than most sandwich restaurants & you can taste the lack of grease. Price point is medium-high. Seating is interestingly arranged on both sides of the entrance. Service here was not poor by any means, but due to the size of the shop I was overhearing the employees banter throughout my meal which detracted from the atmosphere a bit. Highly enjoyable falafel sandwich.
The Falafel Yoni kiosk in the outside portion of Marche Atwater is just another smart addition to a collection of good eateries including Satay Bros ,a smoked barbeque unit,le petite Sao,fresh nuts & Smoothies. On a sunny warm day the vibe is great, people eating, diversity, romantic hustle & onlookers from the full time vendors eating & talking on the large number of clean benches & tables. The smell of the barbeque & in contrast the sweet smell of flowers & plants is oddly inviting during the early summer rush for garden adornment.
I knew of Falafel Yoni from reputation & my review of Pizza Toni. Both have the same owner.
Their Falafel pita,I believe,is Israeli style with lots of red cabbage, onion, fresh Falafel balls, chick pea sauce served in a sizable pita pocket. Spiciness is according to taste & client specific at time of order .
Two things stand out of my recent experience. There was a wait line by number & 8 orders were filled within 10 minutes.
I also brought the pita sandwich home to share with my wife. The content is filling & when shared it can be a meal for 2 at $13
The only caveat is that the falafels were not evenly distributed & my wife got fewer balls than me on the divide of the sandwich
Oh well, such is life!! enjoy
The best falafel I have tasted - fresh, full of herbs & spices & you can watch them being made. So good.
Amazing service from Quiana! The food is always fresh & super tasty. The sandwiches are well stacked & the hummus is so smooth & flavorful. The fries are full of crispies (that's a good thing) & the falafel machine is the coolest thing to watch working. Now. Let's talk about the cucumber salad. Never stop making it. It's the bomb! Fresh & crunchy. Keep up the good work!
The falafel pita was amazing!!! There was a beautiful mixture of flavours & freshness in the pita. I also tried the zatar fries which were great. I went to the Yoni Falafel restaurant on Wellington, in Verdun. It is soberly decorated with cramped seating. It is a very small place so I took my food to go. I would definitely go back when in that neighborhood.
Amazing falafel & lemonade. They packed the falafel so well. The hummus was delicious & the salads were all fresh.
By far the best falafel I have had outside the Middle East. Fresh & beautiful ingredients & really good vibes :)
