Wonderful place for a Japanese & Korean cuisine or meal after a trip from the montreal museum of fine arts. Just a walking distance. Clean & ample spacing between tables. Our server was courteous & alert for our needs. Our food was quick than we expected to be served. It was a delicious taste for our palates. No parking. High chair available. Accepts credit/debit.Voir plus

From a serendipitous walk one evening, my companions & I stumbled upon Ewha Shiro, a quaint yet captivating establishment nestled on Sherbrooke Street West. With ample street parking available, the decision to explore this little gem was an easy one. Several months have passed since that delightful discovery, yet the memory of our visit remains vivid, a testament to the lasting impression Ewha Shiro has left on us. Ewha Shiro presents a harmonious blend of Korean & Japanese cuisine, offering a menu that tantalizes the taste buds with its diversity & quality. Despite its modest size, accommodating a cozy couple dozen patrons, the ambiance is anything but cramped. The decor is a breath of fresh air-fresh, clean, & pleasing to the eye, creating an atmosphere that invites you to relax & indulge. The staff at Ewha Shiro are not only friendly but impressively knowledgeable about their offerings. Their enthusiasm for the cuisine is contagious, making their recommendations not just helpful but part of the dining experience. We indulged in a variety of dishes, including the kelp salad, bean sprouts salad, pumpkin salad, miso soup, Ewha Shiro pickle, & the pièce de résistance-the Korean style braised short rib. Each dish, particularly the salads, was fresh & delightful. Though modest in size, the quality & pricing left nothing to be desired. However, it was the Korean style braised short rib that truly stole the show. It was an unparalleled culinary masterpiece, unmatched in flavor & tenderness by any other restaurant I've frequented. The experience of savoring it was nothing short of buccal bliss-a must-repeat & a highlight of our gastronomic adventures. In summary, Ewha Shiro is more than just a restaurant; it's a culinary journey that offers a unique blend of Korean & Japanese delights. Its intimate setting, coupled with exceptional service & extraordinary cuisine, makes it a must-visit for anyone looking to indulge in a memorable dining experience. If you find yourself on Sherbrooke Street West, do not hesitate to discover the wonder that is Ewha Shiro. You, too, may find yourself reminiscing about it months later, eager to return.Voir plus

A bit pricey compared to similar establishments but the food is very good. The inside is also bright & clean. They sometimes have special off-the-menu items written on a chalkboard.Voir plus

This restaurant is alright, nothing to write home about. Their bibimbap are ok. To my taste, the miso soup had too many paris mushrooms & the kombu taste was a bit too pronounced in the broth. The japanese style tofu is good, it has a great spicy oil & a good crunch, but raw tofu is always a bit intense, you should make sure to share the tofu plate with someone. Music was a bit loud & not too curated, it went from intense to smooth, from rock to kpop to japanese rap. I personally liked it but it annoyed the person I was with. The lights weren't dimmed at all which makes the experience a bit less cozy. One thing that was great is the waitress which was really kind & caring about our experience. The food also got there quickly which is a plus.Voir plus

This is a cute place in downtown with a really nice Japanese/Korean fusion menu. Their signature udon is delicious & has a great creamy sauce with a kick. The restaurant was busy on a saturday night. Portions are on the smaller side.Voir plus

Tried almost all the appetizers, 2 of the mains & a choux stuffed with earl grey flavoured custard. Everything tasted good. Portions were small for prices & it was sad that the basic banchan type sides were separate menu items that cost 6-8$ each, so for a three small bowls it was almost $30. Happy I tried, but not going to return with the pricing/menu as it is.Voir plus
