Food was good, & our server was great. The price was good, choose individual portions we fed 4 of us for under $50 with tip!
The restaurant is meh, old dirty (ish) but I expect that in an old downtown Chinese restaurant. I would definitely eat here again.View more
While visiting China town this place became my go-to for lunch. Ended up visiting multiple times & trying different delicious Chinese dishes. Thank you nice waitress who even advised me to fix my sitting posture & told me I am pretty.

The food was satisfying & met expectations. As with many Chinese restaurants, I didn't expect five-star service, so that wasn't a concern. While the portions were a bit smaller than at other places, the main issue was hygiene-specifically, the utensils, which had some visible food stains & overheard the family next table found a hair. That aside, I'd still consider coming back for a simple & familiar Chinese meal.View more
BEST AUTHENTIC CHINESE FOOD FOR CHEAP!! Super delicious & flavourful food & super affordable!View more
The best Chinese food I've ever had! Very affordable & service is great. Highly recommendView more
Gave an old Chinese restaurant We landed in Montreal & found this restaurant because my friends were craving for duck. We ordered some other dishes. In general, food was fine but I'd not come back if I crave for Chinese foodView more
An authentic Chinese food restaurant with quick service, delicious dishes, & plenty of options to choose from. The review rating doesn't do this place justice! Highly recommend.View more
Little Chinese restaurant in chinatown with over 150 choices on the menu. Also serving Bbq duck & pork. Service is extremely fast. Received all my food within 10 minutes of ordering. Prices are very affordable! Probably, not the best in chinatown, but definitely worth a try. 8.2/10View more
Always looking forward to try different Chinese restaurants. Indeed, this was also the best one. My personal fav was the soup dumpling. It was nice restaurant + friendly staff. Even the kitchen chef's at the kitchen also serve the food. ❤️View more
Visited this Chinese cantonese restaurant because we we searching for a place to warm up with some good hot soup. We ordered chicken corn soup & the beef soup with a side of crispy spring rolls:). Both were excellent! We also ordered the chicken fried rice, broccoli chicken, chow mein, we enjoyed all dishes the General taos chicken could have been crispier but it wasn't bad. Overall we had a nice experience. Ambiance was decent however the restroom could have used some attention. One staff member should be dedicated to this. Will visit again when in Montreal!View more
Simple, no frills Chinese restaurant. Food is pretty good. Service is straight forward.View more
Good service. Missing some A/C. Dumplings shrimp soup ok. It was not a great choice on a very muggy day [ my fault] . The shrimp toast was very good. The 20 dumplings for 10$ were soggy on the inside , not the best I have ever had, but the beef & broccoli were capital D elicious ,so much in the plate. Would have loved more of the beef sauce for the Chinese broccoli . Second time there. Very good prices for the amount of food. 46 plus tip for 3 people, soft drinks & extra rice. Good valueView more
A very casual Chinese spot, with very cheap eats & average food. While they offer a wide variety to satiate the Chinese food urge, I can't say it is of the best quality. For a tourist visiting Montreal, I would have preferred a higher quality experience with actual recipes. The General Tao chicken, for example, seemed merely to be a plate of bulk chicken nuggets doused in sauce. The dumplings just tasted like bulk frozen dumplings & lazily fried. I'd say this place is probably good for take out or hangover Asian food, but not necessarily worth an intentional visit for a sit down meal.View more
Authentic Chinese food & best in Montreal! Highly recommended for Asian travellers who had too much western cuisine.View more
Unbelievably high-quality Chinese food. Great service👍View more
Food was very good, variety & taste were definitely above average for a Chinese restaurant!View more
Very cheap eat. Typical Chinese foods Good price point, comparing to other restaurants nowadays. Bubble tea for $3 Dumpling for $6 Small soup $3 Taste: average Price: very cheap Location: good, easy to find Service: typical Chinese restaurant Atmosphere: just like other Chinese restaurants. Taste: bland but easy to eat The server can communicate but not very well. I'm ok with this place, when I'm in town & looking for easy Chinese food, this is my go-to.View more
Good value Chinese restaurant. Surprised at the low rating. No problems with the service & everything we ordered was freshly cooked. Large sized portions & the dishes we ordered tasted good - black bean chicken, steamed greens with oyster sauce & a chow mein. Shame we didn't have room for any pot stickers which would have been next up for us.View more
Typical Chinese restaurant in North America started by immigrant. Backroom is also used to store items needed (oil etc). Food are great. I'd recommend the dim sum package. It says good for 2 but can easily fit 3 people.View more
I had an excellent dining experience at Restaurant Ethan as the food was very delicious, & the service was attentive & very accommodating. Everything is very authentic Hong Kong style especially the won-ton noodle soup, congee & youtiao (Chinese donut). Definitely a 5 stars restaurant.View more
Tried this restaurant while walking in Chinatown as it looked busy inside. BIG MISTAKE not taking a look at reviews first to see the low ratings. We ordered the combo A for two & added 10 pieces of dumplings as it is very reasonably priced. The combo includes soup, chicken, fried rice, vegetables, egg roll. It was a red flag when the general tso's chicken came out 1 min after ordering - the chicken was luke warm so I think they have it pre made as its a popular dish part of many combos. For those who say this is authentic Chinese food, it is definitely not. It's westernized fast food Chinese that is average at best. We were brought vegetables & multiple servers were yelling beside our table & across the restaurant that they messed up our table number & brought us the wrong type of veggies (I understand Cantonese). One of the servers eventually took the vegetable dish away, however I told her I had eaten a piece of broccoli & she looked at me & acknowledged what I said... then she took the vegetables & gave it to the table right beside us! After that, I didn't have much of an appetite - this shows the class of service or care that the restaurant operates at. While paying the cashier was extremely snappy & rude to the gentleman ahead of us ordering for take out. I would not go back nor recommend this restaurant.View more
Classic Cantonese fare with a BBQ meat section!
Like any good Chinese place, service was lacking so be prepared but the food made up for it.
Not the best quality but really decent if you are craving Cantonese. Prices are very fair despite how expensive everything else is. I mean where else can you get 10 dumplings for only $5.25!View more
Went there many times after work. Cheap price Chinese food, tastes okay.View more
As a Chinese, honestly, if you look for better or high quality Chinese food, here is not the right place, however, the price is not too expensive which is kind of equal the quality of their food. Environment is not too clean in my opinion. Toasted duck is very dry & it's overnight, definitely not like it. The skin of the dumplings is too soft, the taste is not good.View more
Food was decent, definitely authentic Chinese cuisine but the fried rice & fried Gyozas were on the oiler side.
Service on the other hand was appalling, we waited to be seated for about 5 minutes & no one attended to us. When we decided to find our own seats, the waitress decided to chide us twice about how this is inappropriate behaviour “here in this country” & that we should have waited to be seated which we already did.
Servers would ignore us when we raised our hands to ask about an order that did not arrive, & one snickered instead of helping us.View more
Good food. I definitely recommend the juicy duck & BBQ sweet pork.
Service is so-so, but the food here is good. Come here if you enjoy fast & Chinese food.
Remember that this is a fast food restaurant! + CHEAP PRICES!
Surely coming back soon!

Had lunch there, earlier on. It is not a fancy place, but the food (chinese dishes, plenty of porq bbq, duck based fares) is relatively affordable for the quantity of food. The food itself is not bad at all, by montreal standards: as an example, my soup of pork bbq, duck & vermicelli (a generous bowl, at less than $7) featured tasty duck & pork, the bouillon tasty enough. In this genre, it is not among the very best in town (their speciality is bbq meat) but definitely acceptable. Friendly service.
