Dès qu'on passe les portes de ce restaurant nous sommes transportés au Mexique, le décor est magnifique! Pour le dîner nous avons opté pour le menu dégustation & nous avons été complètement conquis! This is more like a drink place , I thought was a restaurant. The food is a little pricey but is good in general. I personally didn't like the general Chapo, the sweet sauce it was not good, is like they pour the whole jam on the chicken & it was hard to enjoy. We also had tacos which were very good but also small, almost like snack size & they cost $11 for 2 so yeah. I feel like we didn't have a lot of things (just 2 drinks & 2 plates) & the bill went up to $80 The place is generally good , don't get me wrong, the atmosphere is nice for a bar, but is pricey for the portion they serve The staff were friendly & attentive all the time.View more

Decided to try this as I am a fan of Mexican food. Sorry to say, what a disappointment this was. Had an entree of ribs. Sauce was delicious but the meat was disgusting. So fatty. Some quality control is needed on the meat you receive from your supplier.
The tacos again were good in taste but these were the size of my palms. $11 for 2 of them & no sides? I could easily eat 10 of these.
Sooooo.......I paid for my little dish & my gf (almost $70 with tip) & then I went down the street to 3 Amigos & had a decent meal for $40. I had a FULL meal there after I ate at Escondite just so you can understand what you are getting for your $$. I feel this is more a drinking hole with sides than a meal place. Would have been okay for me maybe 40 years ago lol
Sorry, won't be seeing me in here again. Overpriced for very little food.

We had a craving for Mexican food & Escondite didn't disappoint! This was a busy spot at 6:30 on a Friday night. We highly recommend making a reservation, we didn't, as a result we were seated at the bar, which since it was just two of us worked out great anyway. The bar staff were attentive & helpful describing the menu. For a starter I ordered the Margarita Media Noche, which came in a glass rimmed with cinnamon & salt perfectly complementing the citrusy cocktail. For an appetizer we chose the Atun Tostados & then for the main course we shared a platter containing a selection of Tinga Tostados, Al Pastor Tacos, Baja 2.0 Tacos & E' Steak Koreano & Nopal Tacos.
