A very cozy small authentic restaurant. We had the tasting menu & the food was good & you can tell it was home made. Almost like you were invited to a Russian grandmother's house. The waitress went above & beyond to make sure we had a good time, in a light hearted way.
Food: the food here is amazing. This is the single best Russian/eastern European that I've ever been too. The food was amazing & the recommendations were all spot on. I usually eat meat medium, they encouraged me that the best way for my meal to be eaten (the medallions i belive) was rare & oh boy it did not disappoint, it was one of the best meals I've eaten. I am also a huge hater of zucchini & was not going to eat it when it came with my meal, I ended up trying it & it was cooked to perfection. I split the tasting menu (witc was for two people, costed $110, gave 4 appetizers a main meal each, dessert & a drink)& everything on it was made with love & delicious. Service: The people that work at the restaurant are the nicest workers I've seen. It's clear they care about each consumer & value a nice, peaceful environment. They gave helpful truthful suggestions about what to order, made jokes with my party of four throughout the dinner, & when leaving encouraged us to take a lot of tiny candies on the way out. The service from beginning to end was amazing. Atmosphere: The atmosphere is very homey & peaceful. Though the restaurant is small, I've never had any trouble with getting a table for four. If anything, the restaurant allows for a nice personal vibe. The lighting dimmed with the light outside, it was made up of warm candle & overhead lighting. The decorations in the restaurant & wallpaper also furthered the homey feeling, it felt like going to a grandparents house. :]
Friends, I just discovered an incredible Eastern European restaurant in downtown Montreal! I went there for lunch today, & I have to say - I'm truly impressed! The borscht was a standout: rich, hearty, & bursting with flavor. The presentation was on point, making it feel like a special experience from the very first bite. The interior is warm & inviting, with a cozy atmosphere that feels like you're stepping into someone's home. It's the kind of place where you can sit back, relax, & enjoy a meal that's made with care. The location is super convenient, & what really added to the experience was the owner, Galina. She's so welcoming & friendly, making sure everyone feels right at home. If you're curious about authentic Russian & Ukrainian cuisine, this place is a must-visit. Trust me, you won't find anything better in Montreal! I highly recommend it - perfect for anyone who loves good food with a homey touch. Let me know if you want to go there together sometime! 😊
this is the very case when all your expectations coincide with reality & what's more, reality is even nicer:) I am very glad that I came to dine here, the cuisine is excellent, in the best traditions, very tasty. The interior is a classic Russian restaurant, with a pleasant view. The service is perfect, it was as if I came to visit old friends. You broke all records, we will come & thank you for being there 🙏❤️
Really Good Russian restaurant, the waitress was welcoming & super friendly. Very good atmosphere. The food was so good, I Really recommend the boeuf stroganof.
Great time, very generous portions of fresh hand made authentic Russian foods. Had the tasting menu & it was 100% worth it, very honest pricing too. We had drinks, extras & it was less than 100$ per person. The host was charming & made us feel welcome, definitely recommend.
Visiting Montreal from NYC. This is some of the freshest, meticulously prepared Russian food I have had. & I have tried many Russian restaurants in the US. Wonderful delicious meal!
