Discovered this gem on the first day in Montreal. Entered on a rainy day looking for quality food, & was absolutely surprised - great host who patiently explained the menu, really tasty eastern-european food without waiting too long, beautiful museum-style interior. Absolutely 5 stars!
Beautiful restaurant, delicious food & very warm, attentive service.
Everything is homemade & you can taste it - flavours are delicate & not overpowering, just perfect.
Definitely one of the highlights of our visit to Montreal!
A nice, atmospheric restaurant. Beautiful decor, delicious food, & friendly staff. When we ordered, the waitress was very attentive & helpful in choosing dishes based on our preferences. There were six of us.

Very nice atmosphere, beautiful interior, kind & friendly staff, delicious food 100/10, affordable prices, exactly what I was looking for all 3 years of living in Montreal 🥰🤗
The restaurant has a warm & welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel comfortable as soon as you walk in. It is a cozy Russian restaurant in Montreal that can accommodate around 30 to 40 guests, giving it an intimate & friendly feeling. The decor is unique & elegant, with golden mirrors, beautiful paintings, & many vintage decorative pieces that create a rich & memorable ambiance.
One of the most special things about this place is that the owners & waitresses have brought many personal family items & souvenirs to decorate the restaurant. These old pieces add charm, history, & authenticity to the space, making it feel more like a family home than just a restaurant.
The food is delicious, full of authentic flavors & prepared with great care. The waitresses, Gala & Nana, are incredibly kind, generous, & attentive. They truly take good care of their customers & make everyone feel appreciated & welcomed. The combination of excellent food, beautiful decor, & warm hospitality makes this restaurant a wonderful place to visit.
This place was absolutely incredible. The food, the service, the music, the ambiance. The decor was also very beautiful...This restaurant feels like home.
Ermitage is one of those places you almost want to keep to yourself. It feels like stepping into a cozy, candlelit home-quiet, warm, & a little nostalgic.
Everything is homemade, & you can really taste it. The food is rich, comforting, & unpretentious, & the desserts are absolutely worth saving room for (trust me).
It's not trendy or flashy-it's better than that. It's personal, intimate, & just… special. Perfect if you want a slow, beautiful dinner that actually feels like an experience.
Such a great experience-Nana & Galia were incredible. We felt so well taken care of, we came back the next day. The soup with homemade pasta & mushrooms was so comforting, loved the little pierogi on the side, & the braised goose leg with cranberry sauce & grilled vegetables was absolutely delicious. We finished with blinchiki au fromage for dessert-light, sweet, & the perfect ending.
I had such a wonderful experience at Ermitage yesterday. I came with my partner, & from the moment we arrived, everything felt special. The food was absolutely delicious - we were served a variety of dishes, each one tasting like it was made with care & love, just like homemade cuisine.
The service was outstanding - attentive, warm, & truly welcoming. It's hard to even find the right words to describe how impressed we were.
& the dessert… absolutely unforgettable. The crepes with cottage cheese were simply incredible - the perfect ending to a perfect meal.
What made the evening even more memorable was the lovely woman who served us. At the end, she kindly took the most beautiful photos of us from outside the restaurant, capturing us sitting together inside in the evening light. Such a thoughtful & unique gesture that we will always remember.
A truly magical experience - we will definitely be back.
Ermitage is a beautiful, quaint spot in an upscale neighborhood serving SPECTACULAR Eastern European food. The atmosphere is quiet, cozy, & feels like home. The place is run by a married couple - she serves tables & he cooks. Both are excellent at what they do. All the food, down to the bread, butter, sour cream & jam for dessert, is completely homemade. If you don't believe me now, you will after your meal! Everything on the menu is scrumptious & portion sizes are perfect. For those unfamiliar with Russian/Ukrainian cuisine, I recommend the Russian Appetizer to start (see attached photo). For mains, consider classics such as Pelmeni (dumplings), Chicken Kiev, Beef Stroganoff, & whatever the server recommends as the nightly special. For dessert, I highly recommend the Blinchiki (crepes, but better!) Medovik (cake), Varenniki (dessert dumplings), & their homemade ice cream. Definitely coming back here ASAP. Priatnogo Appetita (Bon Appetit)!
