The Hermitage Museum in Saint-Petersburg is world famous. Real gourmets also remember the Hermitage (Ermitage) restaurant in Moscow. It is there, at the end of the XIX century, that French chef Lucien Olivier invented his renowned Russian salad.
Ermitage restaurant in Montreal keeps both traditions: the artistic atmosphere of the Saint-Petersburg Museum and the refined cuisine of Moscow famous French restaurant.
Ermitage is widely celebrated as a cozy, authentic gem in Montreal that offers an exceptional Eastern European dining experience. Guests consistently praise the high quality of the homemade cuisine, noting that everything from the bread to the desserts is prepared with remarkable care and love. The atmosphere is frequently described as warm, elegant, and nostalgic, feeling more like a private home than a traditional restaurant. Furthermore, the service is consistently highlighted for being exceptionally welcoming, attentive, and professional, making it a favorite destination for both special celebrations and relaxed meals.
Very nice atmosphere, beautiful interior, kind & friendly staff, delicious food 100/10, affordable prices, exactly what I was looking for all 3 years of living in Montreal 🥰🤗
We have been coming to Montréal for years & today for the first time we tried Ermitage for lunch. It is truly a gem to be visited. The ambiance of the restaurant is amazing. You feel like you have walked into an Eastern Europe restaurant. The waitress was outstanding & the selection of food was amazing. We had th avocado stuffed with shrimp & the pork schnitzel. It was the best schnitzel I have had outside of Germany or Austria. I look forward to going back & trying some of the other dishes. I wish we had tried this restaurant years ago. We will eat out here once a week until we go home in October.
I'd rate 100/5 for service. Two lovely kind ladies made us feel like we're guests in their house. You won't be feeling you're at a restaurant, its just their house, their delicious food, & their lovely service & hospitality.
The restaurant has a warm & welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel comfortable as soon as you walk in. It is a cozy Russian restaurant in Montreal that can accommodate around 30 to 40 guests, giving it an intimate & friendly feeling. The decor is unique & elegant, with golden mirrors, beautiful paintings, & many vintage decorative pieces that create a rich & memorable ambiance.
One of the most special things about this place is that the owners & waitresses have brought many personal family items & souvenirs to decorate the restaurant. These old pieces add charm, history, & authenticity to the space, making it feel more like a family home than just a restaurant.
The food is delicious, full of authentic flavors & prepared with great care. The waitresses, Gala & Nana, are incredibly kind, generous, & attentive. They truly take good care of their customers & make everyone feel appreciated & welcomed. The combination of excellent food, beautiful decor, & warm hospitality makes this restaurant a wonderful place to visit.
As a true gastronomy enthusiast, exploring different cuisines is one of my favorite hobbies, & Ermitage was a wonderful discovery.
The hospitality was excellent. Our host was very attentive & genuinely cared about making sure every guest had a pleasant & enjoyable experience.
The food was delicious. We were three people & ordered three different dishes, giving us the opportunity to try a variety of flavors, & we were all very satisfied.
If you would like to experience the authentic taste of Russian cuisine, Ermitage is definitely a place worth visiting
