The Hermitage Museum in Saint-Petersburg is world famous. Real gourmets also remember the Hermitage (Ermitage) restaurant in Moscow. It is there, at the end of the XIX century, that French chef Lucien Olivier invented his renowned Russian salad.
Ermitage restaurant in Montreal keeps both traditions: the artistic atmosphere of the Saint-Petersburg Museum and the refined cuisine of Moscow famous French restaurant.
Ermitage offers an authentic Eastern European dining experience with many dishes made in house, from bread to dairy, and a warm, intimate atmosphere that feels both cozy and refined. The menu blends world famous classics with signature specialties, including pelmeni, beef stroganoff, chicken Kiev, and delicate desserts like medovik, all crafted from high quality ingredients. Service is consistently attentive and friendly, and the setting combines quiet elegance with a welcoming, homey vibe. The restaurant earns high praise for its remarkable flavor, thoughtful touches, and good value, making it a standout choice for occasions or a special night out.
This is Russian cuisine at its best! I felt very nostalgic, & indeed, this experience was the most memorable part of my visit to Montreal. The service was great, the décor & ambience was perfect, & the food - the food!! The vodka was served in a lovely chilled decanter, the duck was cooked perfectly, but perhaps my favourite part was the appetizer platter with cured fish & a brilliant spread of classic Russian snacks. I can't say enough good about this wonderful place. It is a given that next time in Montreal, I won't be going just once, but as many times as I can!
We had an amazing dinner here while visiting Montreal, the food was really delicious & different. The staff was genuine & really kind to us, we had our baby son with us, mostly sleeping, they were so kind with us all dinner. I highly recommend this restaurant & will come back when we visit Montral again.
Ermitage restaurant in Montreal is a real Gem of the city! It was the best restaurant we visited during our stay in Montreal. The food was delicious, the atmosphere, the tableware - everything is top notch! It’s really reminds of St. Petersburg aristocracy, it’s great taste & culture!!!
& the service was fantastic - we felt like we were welcomed by the family!
Thank you very much for such a great experience!!!
Great restaurant with exceptional service & wide selection of authentic dishes. Had an amazing experience trying out all the delicious options from the tasting menu & a generous serving of solyanka soup on the side. Highly recommend!
Wow wow wow!
The three of us each had the upgraded table d'hôte. Definitely recommend this culinary tour of Eastern Europe. With so many courses, all combined the portions were generous. Everything was nicely presented & the staff were friendly & prompt.
I brought my wife to Ermitage for her birthday. We had the degustation menu & everything was so delicious. For the main dishes, we selected the wapiti & the beef stroganoff. The sauces on both dishes were delicious, we literally lick the plate clean. The service was impeccable & the waitress was just so lovely. We will definitely return to try the other dishes.
