Great place to visit! The food tasted authentic with genuinely good ingredients. The dishes are preset with respect to curries, so you can't change the protein in them. The spice level is fairly mild, even for their labelled extra spicy. But you have tabletop condiments you can add to ramp up the spice level.
If you have children, there were no high chairs or booster seats. So ideally need them to be able to sit in a booth.
Seems like a great place for a date. Food is served quickly & small menu.
Cynical at first. But Ive been converted. Absolutely delicious. Decoration is perfect. Service is effortless & relaxed but efficient. Food is amazing. Prices are great. Nothing but good things to say about Pumpui
Best pad thai i've had. The food was flavorful. The chicken wings were finger licking good. & to finish on a good note, a mango sticky rice. The mango was ripened to perfection. What can you ask for more?
I honestly don't understand the hype around this place besides that it's trendy. I have been twice now. The service overall was terrible. One server in particular was blatantly rude & very condescending to myself & other diners around as well. The food is just ok & very over priced for such stingy portioning. I have had much better authentic Thai food elsewhere. They don't remove the veins of the shrimp, & you barely get any shrimp in the pad thai goong. The fish ball yellow curry was tasty but also small & underwhelming & clearly used frozen fish balls.
The service was good, food was super good. We got the chicken wings, pad Thai & red curry. Really cool vibes
J'ai pris le plat au curry rouge aux aubergines & au poulet & c'était très riche en goût. Nous avons mangé en terrasse & l'ambiance était très sympathique. À mon prochain voyage à Montréal j'y retournerai certainement!
The flavors were great, & I truly wanted to love it, but something was just wrong with my noodles. Either somebody soak the rice noodles in hot water, or there were far too few bean sprouts in the Pad Thai, ultimately making it a sticky plate of stodgy noodles.
The peach doesn't really stand out with the sticky rice. Mango is still the best. Please don't do this again ☹? as it ruins the moment of the mango sticky rice. The pad thai with shrimp is good but not that great. One order is good for 2 people. Overall, 3 out of 5. Food is nice but I don't think I should go back again.
The service was outstanding! The staff were kind & attentive, thoughtfully guiding me based on my spice tolerance & making great recommendations. The food was absolutely perfect, bursting with flavor & just what I hoped for. Overall, it was a wonderful & memorable experience.
Pumpui is a gem! The chicken wings were unreal, the shrimp pad thai was easily one of the best I've ever had, & the pork belly on rice (Pad Pak Boong) was just out of this world. We grabbed takeout but ended up eating right in front & honestly, the little mom-&-pop shop atmosphere made it even better. You can really feel the energy of the place. Even their rosé wine was spot on. 100% a 5-star spot in Montreal!
I'm from Thailand & I can say the taste is not quite authentic. However, the taste is okay.
The pad tastes good but it is not what the pad thai should taste like. Pad krapao is very salty & if you know thai people, we make fun of any restaurant who do pad kra pow with the long bean because it make the volume of the food to be bigger (less meat)
Anyway, it is an okay place to have Thai food but for anyone who is looking for authentic Thai food. Just saying, this is not it.
Had the fish curry & it was delicious! Some spice but not overwhelming. My family had the ribs marinated in coconut milk & sticky rice & they were very tasty. Super recommended.
Simply a must visit restaurant in Montreal.
I've never been to Thailand but Pumpui prides itself on serving authentic Thai dishes. I'll take their word for it because the flavours in their offerings are god damn sensational 👏👏
The fish ball curry is in my top 5 dishes in all of Montreal. Straight up.
Solid value for the price, service is great, & this summer they have a lil terrace in the back!
Woah mais qu'est-ce que c'était bon 😭🫶 l'ambiance est aussi super cool & le service au top ! C'est devenu un de mes coups de coeur à Montréal !
Food was very good! I got the pork krapao & it was super flavourful! 🌶? & spicyy! The portion is generous. I went with my friend to catch up after work but i felt we were being rushed to finish faster. & its a bit hot in there.
