Elforne is widely celebrated as a hidden gem in Montreal, offering an authentic and inviting atmosphere where guests consistently praise the high quality of the handcrafted, wood-fired pizzas. Visitors frequently highlight the exceptionally fresh ingredients, light and airy crust, and generous portions, with many noting that the food rivals the best pizzerias found in Italy. The service is consistently described as warm, personalized, and incredibly hospitable, often delivered by a dedicated owner who takes immense pride in his craft. While some guests mention that the pace can be relaxed due to the intimate nature of the operation, the overall consensus is that the delicious, flavourful meals and welcoming environment make it a must-visit destination for anyone seeking a top-tier dining experience.
So glad to have found this gem that serves elevated pizza. I tried the marinated chicken pizza & the vegetarian one, both delicious options. What stands out about the pizza is the light & airy dough, along with the fresh toppings. The friendly owner served us also a spicy oil that added a tasty touch. Best part is that the menu is fully halal, making it suitable for everyone. I will definitely be back to try more pizzas.
Visiting from PEI. Was told by our hotel staff that this was the best pizza in town. They weren't lying!
Had to order take out as we had fussy kids with us. But we ordered the pepperoni & the 4 cheese pizza. Both were ready to pick up in 15 minutes. Very fresh tasting & full of flavour.
Pizzeria elForne is such an amazing hidden gem, that my friends & I stumbled upon after searching for a nearby restaurant open late within walking distance to our hotel. We were happy to find this place, & were surprised to see it empty, but we walked in & were greeted by the owner who eneded up being the only employee working. It was stunning to see him be so diligent in every task, from working as our server, & chef.
The food was so fresh & tasting amazing. This restaurant has such a stunning authentic atmosphere to it, & I highly recommend & I will be stopping by on my next trip to Montreal.
I went to Elforne for lunch with a group of 10. We called in advance to let them know we were coming. When we arrived, the restaurant was empty - & unfortunately, we quickly understood why.
We waited about an hour for our pizzas. When they finally arrived, the crust was burnt while the middle was still raw. The ingredients did not taste fresh, & the cheese felt industrial & low quality. For $30 per pizza in downtown Montreal, this is completely unacceptable - especially in such a competitive market.
What made it worse was the service. Only one person was working in the restaurant. He never once came to check on us or ask if the food was okay. There was no follow-up, no acknowledgment of the long wait, nothing.
I genuinely wanted this place to be good. The concept has potential. But based on this experience, I cannot recommend it. With this level of execution & attention to detail, it's hard to see how it can compete long term.
We stumbled upon Elforne on a Friday night without a reservation. Seeing it empty at first made us hesitant, but the owner greeted us so warmly that we decided to stay-& I'm so glad we did! The food was absolutely amazing. The owner was a one-man show, acting as our waiter, cashier, & chef. He was so attentive that he even asked if we wanted the pizzas customized to suit the kids. We ordered the Margherita, Mediterranean, & Poulet Mariné; every single one had a perfect blend of fresh ingredients. This is a true hidden gem with top-tier hospitality!
Pizzeria El Forne is a true hidden gem. This little hole-in-the-wall place delivers amazing Mediterranean food along with excellent pizzas. Everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, & clearly made with care.
What really stood out was the service-the chefs actually came out to check on us & make sure everything was perfect, which made the experience feel very personal & welcoming.
Cozy, authentic, & delicious. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to & recommending to others.
For some reason this place was empty when we walked in, so we were a little skeptical. However, not only is the owner extremely kind, the pizza is incredible. We got 2 pizzas (vegetarian & margeherita) & a bruschetta. The dough is airy & light, & you can taste the wood fire char in the pizza. The tomato sauce, basil, & even olives are far fresher than I had expected, with a very bright bruschetta. Ask for the complimentary chili sauce! It seems to be a housemade Italian chili oil & is rather addicting. I do not normally review, but I cannot recommend this place enough, it deserves far more customers.
