We went to El Gordo very randomly with no expectations, & it ended up being such a great surprise! The fish ceviche was really tasty & fresh. The birria is definitely a must - so flavorful & satisfying. I also loved that the carnitas tacos were nice & fatty.
& their margarita was really good too!
Overall, a great unexpected find - I'd definitely go back.
Nice place with tasty mexican food. Love their terrace with the street view on Notre-Dame. & if you love really sour lemonade, they make a very refreshing one😄
We tried the grilled chicken bowl, which was tasty. The combination of salad, rice, guacamole & grilled chicken can't go wrong. The portion was good enough for one person & it was 18$. Liked the food!
I normally don't write reviews, but this place was amazing. The food was really tasty & semi spicy (they do offer hot & really hot sauce if you want). The owner is really friendly & greeted us with so much kindness.
Came here with my girl & we got cocktails, an appetizer & two types of tacos.
Our appetizer was good we had the fried calamari nothing special but good.
Atmosphere was nice music was good, you can see the inside of the kitchen sitting down which is not smth I personally liked, a curtain or smth would be nice.
My girls cocktail was nice & strong mine too but my margarita came in a small mug that was weird didnt think margarita glasses were hard to get for a restaurant?
Ok so the food, my tacos were sadly cold. Not sure if they’re supposed to be but don’t think so, tasty, but cold. My girl got the birria tacos & they were amazing, hence the 3 stars, hot, had cheese & tasted great.

I first tried these at Osheaga & really liked them so I decided to have them again at the restaurant itself. I couldn’t order the taco I had at the festival unfortunately(only available on a certain day) but the shrimp tacos I got were very tasty! I don’t usually enjoy any type of mayonnaise sauce in my food but it all blended well together. I enjoyed it
Hey there! Just wanted to quickly share my experience at this restaurant. It was awesome! Great value & a super fun atmosphere. Our server, Sarah, was really pleasant too. We ordered burritos & they were amazing! Plus, there were so many vegan options that were both plentiful & tasty. Highly recommend checking it out!
Hello. They forgot to bring one of the tacos so we had to remind the waitress. They brought the wrong vegetarian fajita (with chicken on it), when they removed the chicken there was no Portobello mushrooms. (menu said it came with them). Lastly when splitting the bill in 4, they made mistakes. Other wise food was tasty & personnel friendly. Just sloppy service.
