Great nonchalant atmosphere, it's close to the theater so, it's a must with friends before the show. They did have some vegetarian options.
The resto is Mexican themed so you have to like tacos, burritos, quesadillas, mescal drinks, with some hot sauce & so on. You can always ask for changes & they will kindly do so. Good service.

Eleonore was the best waitress! We didnt have to say anything she knew exactly what we needed & when, we had the best time! The food was amazing & so were the drinks, I reallt recommend their sangria if catching up with friends;)

Came on a Friday night, the restaurant had a great vibe. The waitress was fantastic (think her name was Jane). Recommended some great drinks. Food came out fresh & delicious. Wasn't rushed & didn't have to wait too long between dishes. Great meal overall, very much enjoyed by both myself & my wife. Highly recommend & will def be back.

Taco très très ordinaire Poisson - goût de poisson accentué (on a pas terminé l'assiette) Porc- sans saveur. Manque de goût ++ Bavette - correct, sans plus Salade de chou (accompagnement) : acidulée ++++ à s'en étouffer. Impossible de la manger malheureusement Entrée Calmars frit : grosse rondelle industrielle... très ordinaire. Drink : Bien Service : on doit interpeller le serveur régulièrement car il ne se présente pas à la table pour valider que nous avons tout ce qu'il faut. Nous avons demandé la carte des vins 3 X avant de finalement l'obtenir. & il a omis de nous apportez nos verres. (On a dû le redemander au bout de 10 minutes... nous sommes déçu +++ Facture de 165$ + pourboire. J'aurais préféré donner mon argent à un autre restaurateur qui aurait porté plus d'attention au client & nous aurait offert une nourriture de meilleur goût.

I visit this restaurant every time I'm in Montreal (30 times so far?) Simply put, the food is great but the service isn't good, especially this time. We waited 20 minutes for the waitress to take our order, she didn't check to see if the food was fine or if we needed anything (didn't have napkins so I had to take them from another table because she wouldn't even look at us when she walked by at the other end of the bar), didn't ask to refill our drinks... basically didn't see her until we stood up to pay because we wanted to leave (waiting 15 minutes with not even a glance to see that we were completely done our food). Whoever owns this place knows exactly how to make Mexican food... delicious, great music & location. Just don't expect the service to be great. It might be because I go during the day (12-4)/not prime time, but I shouldn't see the waitress only at ordering & paying time.

El Gordo is a great Mexican restaurant to grab taco. Went there for dinner on weekday. Wasn't crowded & had plenty of seats. We ordered nachos, drinks & tacos. The food was delicious & good portion size too. However just a point to note, all the dishes has plenty of vinegar soaked onion making the dish tangy which we enjoyed a lot but might not be for everyone.

On adores venir à votre restaurant avant les spectacles.
Nous avions réservé pour le bar & nous étions assis à une table & les drinks ne sont jamais arrivé , nous avons du le rappeler malgré une soirée tranquille . Bref d'habitude on aime mais hier c'était 4/5 , à bientôt quand même ça l'arrive des soirée comme ça x

It was a bit loud as a place & while the food was good, it was a bit soggy. However the service & the drinks were on point!

We came here a couple of times before & liked the place. However, we came here on a Tuesday to have a quick bite & a drink on the terrace to enjoy the beautiful weather. The waitress today gave us a horrible service. She forgot to bring us the wine menu & it took 45 minutes to get the bottle we ordered.
She gave us 2 dirty glass & a warm bottle. When we mention the glasses were dirty, she didn't even change them. We were disapointed that we decided to grab a bite elsewhere.
Both waitresses were young & lack experience, they didn't even let us taste the $80 bottle wine we ordered before pouring into our dirty glasses.
Please careful on hiring your staff.

Very good fish tacos . Im from Nayarit , Mexico & it been really hard to find good fish tacos . I’m very judgy about my Torillas & there good here & the fish is of good quality. The Drink are very good here too!
