Imagine going back to your hometown after a while & going to your grandparents. That is El Amigo in a nutshell
Reservation by phone. On location, not a cat. Only us & the only staff/front of house/cook/etc. Menu: extensive. Atmosphere: drama in Spanish on the TV. Decor: inside your parents house. Not wheelchair accessible. Bring your own wine/beer. Food made on order. Came pretty quick. Good portions. Tasty. Had the restaurant for ourselves until 20:00 came. Then 11 + 2 came at once. Staff overwhelmed but did his job.
Good prices.
TL;DR: come with good company, good wine or beer, & patience & enjoy the pupusas.View more
Came across this place when strolling around the neighborhood for food. Living in Central America for 3 years this place hit the spot & not very busy. Pupusas were really good. The carne was great. Very nice owner. Reasonable $$ will be backView more
Great portions for the platters ! Authentic Salvadorean meals, however i do not recommend the pupusas.... They were extremely thin & next to nothing filling ! Sad. Everything else was good.View more
What a gem of a place! Lacking in atmosphere but the food more than compensates. Staffed by a single elderly man who both took & prepared our order. His service was pretty satisfactory, but his cooking was great! Menu had a nice variety of dishes spread between Salvadoran & Mexican cuisine. The prices blew me away with how good they were, I ended up ordering 2 pupusas as well as an entire platter. If it wasn't so out of the way for me, I'd come here on the regular & ensure he stays in business.View more
View more
