A cafe for the coffee aficionado. If you want to talk shop & nerd out on all things coffee, this is the place.
These guys know their stuff & make excellent pour overs & espressos, with a very unique selection of interesting beans & roasts on hand.

Seating is very limited though, so it's pure luck if you'll be able to sit & savour at the counter.

Overrated a bit. Limited coffee beans selection as compared to others. Technique to be evaluated again due to poor extraction. No background music & no decor. Not so comfortable seats. Poor service- Barista was not in a mood to talk about his own coffee I guess.

A standout spot for coffee enthusiasts, Café Eclair offers an excellent pour-over menu with an impressive selection of beans. The atmosphere is warm & inviting, & the staff are friendly & knowledgeable.

Best pourover coffee experience I have ever seen. The baristas are very knowledgeable on all the current offerings for beans & are happy to help find a coffee that you will like. I have never seen a place that has you smell the beans & tastes the coffee as qc before serving it to you. This is a full experience - be prepared to wait if it is busy. Actually not overpriced for the experience you are getting, especially compared to a coffee in the states.

If there exists a better coffee shop in Montreal, with smoother steamed milk & more dynamic & expertly roasted beans, then surely it is on some other plane of existence - accessible only through absolute divine transcendence. For a mere approximation of that, a sip of the sublime - there's Café Éclair.

Amazing coffee. We'll curated, definitely underrated. The shop owners & workers here are sincerely nice & they all compete in coffee in some way. I visited here twice on my visit to Montreal but wish I had come earlier to be able to visit every day.

I had some of the best coffee of my life here as a pour over & as a oat latte. It was full of fruit (strawberry) flavor that I rarely find in coffee shops (& I've had specialty coffee beans from all around the world). Of course the flavor depends on what they sourced at the time I visited, but no doubt they know how to brew a fine cup of coffee. Worth a visit or more.

Have been visiting Eclair for years whenever in Montreal. They have an exceptional approach to coffee, sourcing some of the best beans in the world & preparing beverages with uncompromising attention to detail. All of the staff I've interacted with are knowledgeable & passionate about their work. The cafe itself is beautiful, clad in green & white, & stocking an eclectic mix of books which decorate the walls. Highly recommended, one of my favourite cafés.

One of the best cafes in the city. Always serving super high quality beans from international roasters. Coffee is always dialed to perfection. I really love how the layout is like a bar, it encourages you to make conversation with others. I've had really great experiences here chatting with the staff as well as with other customers. Prices are also very fair considering the cost & quality of the coffees they carry.
