Party of 4, all of our glasses needed to be changed twice because of lipstick on them. Calamari is average grocery store bought quality. Beef & tuna tartares were flavourless. Rack of lamb was actually under cooked raw lamb chops without any seasoning. Beef short ribs was spectacular melt in your mouth tender. Chocolate brownie with ice cream was a layered pound cake with cheap butter cream center dipped in chocolate without any ice cream. We sent this back. Requested a pistachio tartufo instead which was a low grade ice cream made with artificial almond essence. Service was great but food was no where near the quality of the price demanded. Won't return.View more

Expérience mitigée. Le serveur était sympa mais les prix pratiqués pour la quantité & les plats que c'est sont trop élevés. Pour ces prix là rien d'extraordinaire. À la fin l'addition étant très élevé nous pensions que le service était inclus nous n'avons donc pas mis de pourboire, & le gérant du restaurant nous a fait la réflexion que nous n'avions pas mis de pourboire pour le service, cela nous a gêné.Il a crée un malaise avec sa réflexion tout en restant à proximité de nous. Not at all what I expected. Way over priced for the service & the quality of food. The table was too tiny we asked for another table to be added if possible. We were told tables were reserved. The busboy was kind enough to get us the extra table. We asked for a mid-well cooked steak, we got a charcoaled piece. Best part, the waiter arguied that was what we ordered. We waited a total time of 2h13m for a steak dinner. Bring your own wine is what's keeping this place in business. The signature dessert is just ok. Not to die for really. The pasta was good. The calamari could be a little crispy. They serve a plate of antipasto which is free with bread. After the meal, we got a plate of fruits (oranges, melon, & spoiled grapes) complementary of the house. Over all, it wasn't the greatest of experiences.View more

July 2024. Our annual visit to Montreal. Family took us to this resto at our request. Compared to last year, a bit disappointed. Atmosphere... About the same but with less clients. Service... Many waiters have been changed. Service is ok only. Food... The highly recommended oysters are only so, so. The calamari is good, the cesar salad is ok, the beef tartare is as expected not outstanding, pieces of meat could be more finely chopped. The steak knives need to be replaced, all of their handles have splinters. The glasses are dirty, 8 out of 10 are dirty with stains on the side & leftover lipstick stains on the rim. All in, fairly disappointed. The owner just left as we arrived at 6pm. He needs to be back on the ball watching over this place. @@@@@@@@@ July 2023. Our family of 7 adults went there for dinner. The only drawback is that we had to choose between the 5:30 (too early) or the 8:30 (too late) sitting. We opted for the early one. The food was excellent. This is a meat place, not recommended for non meat eaters. Service is friendly & efficient. Decor is simple & suitable for family or big group (not recommended for business lunch or dinner). Neat Bring You Own Wine restaurant. This is a solid 4.5 in my book (if only Google allows .5 rating) The food is excellent. Everything is well prepared & you can tell the ingredients are fresh. I sure hope so as it's a butcher place at the same time. The steaks are of great quality. We tried various dishes & they're generous enough in size to share. The services were meticulous & friendly. The price is on point. It's not cheap, but definitely not overcharged. The ambiance is cozy. You're either sitted inside with minimal decor or outside under the chapiteau. It does have its charm, but nothing to rave about. Definitely put the emphasis on the great company you're with & the wine you brought to enjoy!View more

was expecting more from the meats, but overall still had a great experience here. i love that they start u off with some charcuterie & end the meal with cut fruits!! so pleasant :) i rly liked the beef tartare!! perfectly seasoned & so good with the sauce the meats were just ok to me. i was expecting more seeing the other reviews. we ordered medium rare but i feel like it came more rare than that. the potatoes it came with, a bit rubbery? the pistachio tartfuo for dessert is a MUST. first time having this & i was super impressedView more

The food is delicious, but they charge you for water & complain if you bring yours. Which is literally illegal. Its sad because the food is amazing, but that one aspect is a massive turn off. You can't legally prevent people from bringing literal freaking water, but tell them to bring alcohol. Its ridiculous.View more

Sincèrement, c'était ok sans plus. Les employés sont sympas, mais le samedi soir est un jour très achalandé. J'y suis allée pour un anniversaire & les choix au menu étaient corrects. Par contre, il n'y a rien d'intéressant pour les enfants, donc je suggère de ne pas les amener. Mon risotto était assez bon, mais l'attente interminable. What a fantastic meal. I really didn't expect such good food. The rib steak was as close to perfection I've ever had & the calamari was delicious & a generous portion. The service was excellent & the atmosphere was very pleasant. I didn't know they didn't serve alcohol, you can bring your own, but it didn't dampen the experience. Highly recommended.View more
