I am from toronto & i have came to visit montreal for 2 days, at first we were figuring out where to eat the lunch aa we don't know anything about restaurants in montreal, we just check the reviews & went to this place & after having our lunch we end up loving the place. Their food, their hospitality & their service , its just wow. We even again went for dinner both days & everytime their food & hospitality & everything was perfect & ofcourse that painting on wall was a cherry on cake, it was so appealing, i can just say that its a perfect hidden gem of montreal, now everytime i am gonna come to visit this place in montreal.Voir plus

I visited'downtown dhaba' during my layover in Montreal in February 2025. I was really hungry, & the craving for homely food away from home was real. The food I got here was delicious. Not only was the food great, but the atmosphere also made me feel safe in a new city. The owner & staff were friendly. They even let me borrow a jacket since I had forgotten mine, & it was -15 degrees outside. I've been in Canada for a year now, & this was my best dining experience so far.Voir plus

Had a late breakfast/ early lunch this morning. Food was great chai was better. Only thing i would say is the service needs a little improvement. But everything else was good I'm glad i passed by thank you!!Voir plus

The place itself is now called Indian resto which was at first glance quite difficult to find because online it displays a different name.
I did order take out & sticked to the basics like a lentil curry with rice. Due to the good ratings, I was expecting a lot. Unfortunately I was greeted with a curry that did taste like store bought/straight out of a can. Even though the food was cheap, I think the rating is way too high for delivering that poor food quality. Additionally I had a Mango Lassy which also tasted mainly like water with a little mango Joghurt in it, also really disappointed. Don't recommend it at all as long as the quality stays like this.Voir plus

The Mango Lassi was refreshingly smooth & well-balanced. The presentation was elegant, the portions generous, & the service warm & attentive. N/A for Service & Atmosphere as I ordered using Uber Eats. Ordered Butter Chicken, Samosa & Tandoori Roti for dinner. The samosas were good, ample size & good filling. The chutneys were alright too. The tandoori roti was also good. The butter chicken was an utter disappointment - probably one of the worse I've had. It was basically chicken cubes in water that was supposed to be the sauce for butter chicken. Traditional butter chicken is supposed to be rich, a bit creamy - not watery! Maybe it's cost cutting, but I had a couple of bites & ended up throwing it away.Voir plus
