Located in Montreal's popular Little Italy district, Restaurant Douro is a mainstay for authentic Portuguese cuisine. Upon entering Douro, one finds an ambiance of cozy, trendy and modern dining where authentic Portuguese cuisine can be savored in a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere.
Savor Portuguese food, made from the freshest of ingredients, is what can be expected at this magnificent restaurant. Start the evening with Portuguese sausage (choriços), casserole of shrimp, grilled calamari or soup. For the main course, choose from mixed seafood plates, grilled fish, veal and more. The menu is rich with great flavors, textures and aromas.
Douro's warm and courteous staff make it a great place to bring your your loved one or friends for a diner you won't soon forget!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Montreal. From the very professional staff to great vibe & ambiance. Great menu, love the tapas & the bread & soft cheese / olives served before the meal. the attention to details very appreciated !
I've been coming to this restaurant for decades, & it remains one of the best-kept secrets for authentic Portuguese cuisine. From the moment you step inside, you're welcomed with the same warmth & hospitality that has defined this place for years.
The menu is a perfect mix of traditional favorites & fresh seafood. My personal favorites are the following:
Entre: Mixed tapas & caldo verde soup
Main: The cataplana dish paired with a bottle of Mateus Rose wine.
Dessert: The natas do ceu (cream from heaven) with a bica.
What truly sets this place apart is the consistency. The flavors, the friendly service, & the cozy atmosphere. Whether it's a quiet dinner or a lively gathering with family & friends, this restaurant always delivers an experience that feels like home.
Decades later, I keep coming back-& I always will.
Première visite a ce restaurant & certainement pas la dernière fois! Tout était délicieux de l'entrée tapas mixte au dessert! Le service était exceptionnel!
What a Montreal treasure ! Having just returned from Portugal in September, we were thrilled to be introduced to this restaurant by friends. From the start, the service was friendly & helpful. We had the mixed tapas to start, & all 4 of us were entirely satisfied. The bread, olives & beans, & soft cheese accompaniment were quickly devoured. We chose the fish of the day (one fresh Icelandic cod & the other a branzino). Both fish were pan-fried in a light caper & butter, were delicious & moist, & came with mashed potatoes, & grilled vegetables. The men had the bitoque steak meal & the salted cod plate. The bitoque was amazingly tender with a sauce so reminiscent of those in Portugal. Dessert was fantastic carrot cake & the "heavenly dessert" (nata do céu), & with coffee, they were the perfect end to our meal. Prices were above normal but everything is fresh, plentiful, & delicious. It was our first time, but we are hoping to return again for more flavors of Portugal 🇵🇹.
