About

Double's serves elevated pub fare centered on meticulously prepared smash burgers that highlight high-quality beef and traditional toppings. The kitchen prioritizes comfort food staples, focusing on deep flavors and consistent execution across a menu designed for straightforward, satisfying consumption. Patrons select from a focused list of handhelds and side dishes that emphasize texture and seasoning rather than excessive culinary complexity. The interior maintains an unpretentious atmosphere where the architecture reflects a functional and relaxed dining space. Each burger features a thin, crispy-edged patty paired with fresh ingredients that adhere to classic flavor profiles. Culinary preparations remain rooted in standard pub traditions, ensuring a dependable experience for those seeking hearty meals in a strictly casual setting that avoids unnecessary stylistic embellishments.

Review Summary

Double's is widely celebrated as a quintessential dive bar that excels at providing a relaxed and vibrant atmosphere, perfect for enjoying sports, music, and games like pool. The menu is a major highlight, with patrons frequently praising the high quality of the smash burgers, wings, and mozzarella sticks, which are often described as some of the best in Montreal. While the service is consistently noted as friendly, energetic, and professional, guests should be aware that the popularity of the venue makes reservations essential. Although some visitors have noted minor issues regarding ventilation, bathroom maintenance, or temperature drafts from the entrance, the overall consensus remains highly positive, making it a go-to spot for those seeking a casual, unpretentious, and fun night out.

Great dive bar atmosphere, with even better food. The burger is simple in the best way possible. They don't overcomplicate it with a ton of toppings (patty, cheese, pickles, lettuce, Michigan sauce), nor do they make it inaccessible to picky eaters. The fries may be some of the best I've had at a resto. Even the dessert, which always comes with a sparkler, was great. Highly recommend this place. Can't wait to go back.

Awesome dive bar. Exactly everything you'd want in a dive & one of the best smash burgers I've had.

Came here on a Monday night for a friend's birthday. We ordered most of the menu & nothing disappointed! The standouts were definitely the burger & the mozzarella sticks. The cheese pull speaks for itself. The wings & chicken parm were also solid, & the fries were nice & crispy, served with a garlic mayo. When I say the burger is a standout, I don't even mean "for a bar". It's a contender for best burger in Montreal, & when warring against titans like L'Hamburger, MangeDansMonHood, & Chez Simon, you know that means something. The da t that you can get it either Beyond Pattie's is a big deal for all the vegetarians out there too. The venue's appearance is curated to look like your favorite basement dive bar, but everything feels hand-picked & perfect. We ran up a heck of a tab, but we left full & tipsy, with plans to come back ASAP, worth the cost for sure!

Do they call it a smash burger because of the way it's cooked or because of how you smash it in your mouth from how good it is? In any case, this one is both.

For being relatively new (ish) it is decorated as an old neighbourhood dive bar. Playing alternative rock, showing sports (mostly football right now), pool table, the decor overall, graffiti all over the entrance wall... This place is a vibe.
But the real star of the show for us was the Michigan Oliive Burger. We were told why it's called that but tbh.. we forgot. But nonetheless it is wonderful. Very large, & yet we kinda wanted another one. Juicy, moist, just the right amount of light bread, lovely sauce & did we say... Very large?
It's worth visiting for this burger alone.

I was hesitant to go here as it felt like somewhere that could have easily been overhyped but I have never been so wrong. This was, hands down, the BEST BURGER OF MY LIFE. I truly cannot express how good it was, just go try it & see for yourself.
The restaurant itself has an unassuming exterior & the inside is dark & has the feel of a dive bar. It’s intentionally decorated to give this feel while still been clean & cosy. Service was great, cocktails really good. On the more expensive side overall but I would gladly pay for the quality. Looking forward to trying more of their food options, this chef is amazing!

a bar that's trying to be a dive bar? or give that vibe at least. The burger was really good, beer selection is pretty poor, service was mediocre at best
