Review Summary

Dosa Pointe is widely celebrated as a premier destination for authentic South Indian and Indo-Chinese cuisine in Montreal, earning praise for its crispy, generously filled dosas, fluffy idlis, and flavorful chutneys that many diners compare favorably to meals found in India. While the majority of visitors highlight the consistent quality, generous portion sizes, and excellent value for money, experiences with service and atmosphere can vary. The restaurant often experiences high demand, resulting in busy, noisy environments and occasional wait times, which some guests find off-putting despite the high culinary standards. Although most reviews commend the friendly and efficient staff, others have noted occasional inconsistencies in service speed or attentiveness during peak hours. Ultimately, the restaurant remains a highly recommended favorite for those seeking an authentic and comforting dining experience, provided guests are prepared for a lively and sometimes crowded setting.

Really good dosa place

I always went there for their masala dosa. No doubt the food is good but the customer service is soo bad. After serving the food, they never come to the table & ask if we need anything else. They should come atleast once after serving food. They are always standing there but never come & ask.

This place is a gem. The cozy vibe & top-tier ingredients made for a wonderful meal. Everything we ordered was executed flawlessly. The staff provided excellent care without being intrusive. From start to finish, it was a masterpiece of a meal. Truly an unforgettable night out.

Visited this place last Saturday with friends & had a fantastic experience. We ordered idly, puri, & dosa, & everything was impressive.

The puri was perfectly fluffy & soft, paired with two flavorful curries that complemented it really well. The dosa was crisp & delicious, just as it should be.

But the real highlight was the idly - easily the best I've had in Montreal. It was incredibly soft, fresh, & literally melted in the mouth like butter. The sambar & chutneys were rich in flavor & perfectly balanced.

Overall, an outstanding experience. If you're craving authentic South Indian food in Montreal, this place is definitely a must-visit!

I recently placed a bulk order (50+ idlis) for an office event on very short notice, & the experience exceeded expectations.
When I called late in the evening, they didn't just accept the order-they took the time to guide me on the right quantities for sambar & coconut chutney based on the number of people. That kind of practical advice is rare.
What stood out even more was their honesty. When I mentioned I planned to pick it up at night & reheat it the next morning, they advised against it because it would affect the taste. Instead, they offered to prepare the order fresh the next morning-& actually opened outside their regular hours just to accommodate this.
The idlis were warm, soft, & incredibly fluffy. For many people at the office, it was their first time trying idlis, & the feedback was consistently positive-everyone loved it.
Great food is one thing, but this level of service & thoughtfulness is what makes a place stand out. Highly recommended.

Visited again on 3 Feb, & had a plate of Vada … this time sambhar was really tasty & chutney were nice. Vada was not fresh, but decent.
Chilli garlic noodles was spicy & tasted nice, but it was a little more oily.
Their Indo-Chinese dishes are a must try.
Overall ***.5

Trio fried rice with manchurian was really very tasty, i did request for spicy & it was to the mark… awesome & i will try their other Indo-Chinese dishes.

As for the mysore masala dosa, it lacked the authentic taste, just had the podi chutney :( i didn't like the sambhar either, chutney were fine. For this price, this would be 1.5-2**

Staff is very friendly & listens carefully

I recently tried Dosa Pointe & honestly, I really enjoyed the food. The paper dosa was huge, super crispy, & just perfect-one of the best I've had in a while. It came with chutneys & sambar that tasted fresh & went really well with it.

The rava dosa was also really good-nice & crispy with that light, lacy texture. You can tell it was made fresh, & the flavor was spot on.

I also had the idli, which was soft, fluffy, & comforting. It paired perfectly with the chutneys & sambar.

The karam podi dosa was my favorite though-it had a nice spicy kick & was full of flavor without being too overpowering.

Overall, the food felt authentic & satisfying. Definitely a place I'd come back to when I'm craving good South Indian food.
