BBQ duck was dry. Not as good as usual. & the white guy at cashier forgot to give me the sauce for it. I bought the whole duck at 52$ plus taxes ~59$

An OG of Montreal's Chinese BBQ scene. Straight to the point with quick BBQ on rice platters & Hong Kong drinks. Efforts were made to modernize while still maintaining the nostalgic HK movie vibes.

An honest family run business from a Hong Kongese multi-generational family. Located in a food plaza, the front windows showcase the classic roast duck, crispy & bbq pork.

The inside is decorated with a lot of Bruce Lee in the upper level that overlooks the street of Quebec. The food is authentic Hong Kong food & is delicious. No short cuts were made. The milk tea leaves some to be desired with the flavor & high amount of milk to tea & condensed milk used. The tea does not have a lot of condensed milk to give it sugar.

The staff were all helpful & king people.

Very flavorful meat but noodles & rice were a little underwhelming.

As my third time coming to Dobe & Andy, I can say they are obviously well known for their chinese/Cantonese style of BBQ meat that is very flavorful but the rest of the dish falls a bit behind.

Ordered the beef noodle soup with wontons, the garnish was almost like a pho-styke with raw onion & bean sprouts but did complement the soup. The soup is not too salty or fatty, it's decent for a cold day. The noodles & wontons however were lacking in flavor, they use very thin noodles. The wontons had an overwhelming taste of ginger & only 4 or so in my soup. There were 5 moderate slices of braised beef which were good, about 20-30% ratio of fat to lean meat.

I was also asked if I wanted chili oil on the side, & I said yes but did not know it was $1. The chili oil was similar to Lao gan me, quite flavorless & didn't add much to the dish. After tax, I paid 24, which is definitely above average for braised beef wonton noodle soup, so I probably wouldn't get that again.

Overall, decent place for chinese/Cantonese style BBQ meat but don't focus on the rice/noodles as the star.

My experience at this restaurant was borderline comical, nearly Kafkaesque. You should definitely avoid it, especially with so many other good restaurants around. Here's what I experienced:

- My friend ordered the salad as a starter. Then a different server came to take our order, unaware we had already ordered some food. When he learned my friend had ordered the salad, he immediately left without explanation to go speak to the first server. Minutes later he came back to say that salad was no longer on the menu.

- The first server told me that they had run out of chicken (among other things). The second server then told me that, in fact, there was some chicken left & I could order it, so I did. Half an hour later, yet another server - our third of the evening - informed us that actually there was no chicken left after all, & didn't ask if I wanted to order anything else.

- I ordered a salty 7Up. It never arrived.

- It took well over an hour for all of our food a rice, veggie, soup, & bbq duck - to arrive at our table.

- The server didn't know the price of items on the menu like the soup (which replaced the mysterious salad).

Most of the above might be excusable if the food was any good - but it was not. The duck had chewy skin, was very gristly & yet also very dry, & full of bone. Do they not know how to cut meat? Worst hot & sour soup I've ever tried. Vegetable dish was small & expensive.

I used to love ordering from you. Ordered today, half my order was missing. I asked for roast pork & got BBQ pork. Small amounts for the price. You need to pay attention to the details of your online orders. Very disappointed

Food was below average for a place serving traditional Chinese food. BBQ meats platter did not have sufficient flavour & felt plain meaty. Prices are on par & generous portions

This was great, wasn't expecting much honestly, but was craving those Singapore Hawker Centers & it brought me right back. First time I'm having this good of Chinese barbecue in Montreal, both the roasted pork & bbq pork were great. Juicy & flavorful.

I'll have to try the duck next time.
