Great atmosphere as well. But the service was definitely lacking on this most recent visit. I came in for a beer by myself, there was nobody seating guests at the door despite this being a full table service establishment. I went to the bar & asked the bartender if I should seat myself & he said "sure". I asked him if I should grab a menu & he said "yea, you can do that". He seemed like he had no idea. So I sat at a table waiting for someone to take my order for about 10 minutes. All while servers were walking by my table the entire time. I was about to leave when one of the bartenders finally came & took my order. I drank my beer & then I sat with an empty glass for about 5 minutes until I flagged somebody down to pay. I will come back on my next trip to Montreal because I've had good service here in the past. This must've been a busy night for them or something.
We have been trying to visit for litereally years now & it's always been absolutely packed with people. They have recently renovated & doubled the size, opened a terrace... & it was still difficult to get 2 seats. This past weekend we finally found out why. A beautiful modern looking, comfortable interior including visible stills. We opted to sit outside as it was a nice day & we enjoyed a few of their excellent beers & & equally stellar poutine. Great drinks, great food & perfect location. This is a great example of everything you'd want a microbrewery to be & we understand now why it's so popular.
Very great beers, quality & selection. IPAs, great Lager & Irish cream ale. Food is also extraordinary
Some very good beer. The NEIPA was particularly good. The setting reminds me more of a crowded wine bar than a brewery & it was particularly busy & noisy when we went which took away from the atmosphere. Good selection of unique beers will ensure we will return
Awesome selection of beers, some of which are so unique they can only be found at DDC! The service & food (loaded nachos) was also excellent.
Great beer, reasonable prices, good ambiance for afternoon & evening hangs!
First time back since they renovated & it is so much more spacious than before. Same excellent beer, great atmosphere & service, but just much more room to sit. Huge improvement imo, easily top 3 micros in MTL.
come here. drink great beer. forget about the world for a minute. be happy.
Busy place, but great selection of beers!! I really enjoyed the sour & my new favorite, a smoked beer. Friendly staff, & nice interior, space for larger groups if you can find the space
Great beers. Amazing nachos, & vegitarian charcuterie board. Going to be a must stop anytime we return to Montreal. We came last year when it was closed so glad to see them open again. As good as ever if not better. Place is very nice. Looks great. clean. updated. Food is excellent. Beer is amazing. Odd note. But they really hit the mark with a simple gender neutral washroom.
+++ Vast & varied selection of beers, most/all brewed directly in-house. +++ Good layout & seating ever since the 2023 renovation. +++ Passionate & knowledgeable staff. --- Pricey food offerings for the quantity. This place is a reference in the local microbrew industry, & with reason. There is every sort of beer for everyone, & all of utmost quality. When success is that disconcertingly easy, all one can say is: "S-Tier, rien à redire."
Good beer but the young barman (dark hair, glasses) working the bar on the pub side of the place had no clue how to pour a stout, which was surprising for a brewpub. After pouring me this monstrosity / joke (see photo!), I said nothing at the time not wanting to be annoying, but for the second one I asked him nicely if he could pour it so the head was around finger width, explaining that this was standard where I was from (Dublin - & this was listed as a "stout Irlandaise" so I figured I was not taking nonsense here). He did so & he said I should have told him the last one was badly poured. I said no problem not a big deal. (There were 8 people he was serving sat at the bar so I did wonder why he couldn't maybe look at the pint before he gave it to someone!) After 4 pints I had to leave & got the check. I tipped $4 thinking that was standard (as it is in NYC - a dollar a pint) & he told me passive-aggressively that "15% is normal, but ok". I would have preferred he just said thank you or nothing. Left a bad impression. I won't rush back. I do think the tipping culture is getting crazy. Getting a hard time for tipping $1 a pint across 4 pints sat at a bar, when the barman doesn't even know how to pour them!
In the gritty realm of craft brews, this microbrewery is an undisputed heavyweight. A solid 5/5 stars, because let's face it, their beer is a knockout. Each sip is a journey around the world of hops & malts, a symphony of flavors that transcends borders. From the first pour to the last drop, this microbrewery doesn't just brew beer; they craft liquid poetry. It's not just a local gem; it's a global beer pilgrimage. & at this microbrewery, you're not just feeling it-you're savoring a worldwide beer revolution. Cheers to the brews that redefine excellence! 🍻🌍
Amazing selection of beers & excellent service. Loved the atmosphere - very cozy & friendly. Highly recommend if you're looking for somewhere to spend a chill afternoon!
