We went to Montreal for a weekend trip & found Deville Dinerbar while walking to find a restaurant to eat at.
Great selection for their dinner menu & they also have a great cocktail menu. We ordered some burgers, mac & cheese, chicken with fries, the hanger steak & of course a strawberry milkshake & some cocktails. We also couldn't pass up trying their famous beignets.
We were so impressed by the service & food we went back again for dinner but were so disappointed they were closed on Sunday. Our server was so friendly & amazing!
My family still talks about Deville Dinerbar & look forward to when we can come back to Montreal to eat here again!

However, Ali, the manager, was rude & very disrespectful. The appetizers were good but the main, steak frites were terrible. Undercooked & tasteless. I came with a group & all our food was cold. Truly disappointed. Maybe I'll go back & try something different but I def don't need to speak to the manager again cause the rudeness wasn't necessary.
Visited Deville Dinerbar on two occasions during our visit to Montreal, for breakfast on our first day & for dinner in our last night. On both occasions it was as close to faultless as you can get. All of the staff, particularly Mariana on our second visit were fantastic & we also met the Maitre'D as well who welcome us as well. The great thing was it wasn't standard breakfast diner fayre everything was done with just that little bit more panache & style which is the best way to describe this place. Had the beef shortrib with the scrambled egg topping & red wine jus for breakfast & it was AMAZING. For the dinner night my husband had the oysters & I had the beef steak with their signature mac & cheese. The selection of wines & beers was excellent also. Some other reviewers have said that it is a little pricey - I get that to a degree - but I think the overall experience makes it worth it. Definitely a must-visit if you are in Montreal.

Stylish brunch, with fun showy food. We had stuffed french toast & the chimichurri steak avocado. The steak was spicy & perfectly cooked. The french toast was delicious though a tad sweet & I wish the dark amber taste of the syrup wasnt so overwhelmed by everything else.
The sports were fun to watch on the tvs. A little dissapointed that the super comfy booths were all taken already. You see them on the way in & then once inside you realize you have to sit at a tiny bar table.
The prices were just too high.
I see this comment a lot in restaurant reviews but this time its legitimately true. Almost $100 & we barely ate or drank anything.
Cool ambiance, excellent food & excellent service! We had a really remarkable dinner! The chicken was fantastic & the steak was perfect! I had a great IPA & my friend had a nice bottle of wine!
Last minute stop before they closed Thursday 4/23. Great service & the burgers were great. Got the Black Label… mmhmm.. enjoyed the fires too! Nice vibe! Went back Saturday 4/25 for brunch… omg.. the steak & eggs Tartine was sooo good, everyone loved what they got. We came in group of 10 each time & were easily accommodated. Definitely recommend!!!
Excellente expérience dans ce restaurant ! Le service était attentionné & professionnel du début à la fin, ce qui a vraiment rendu le moment agréable. La nourriture était savoureuse & bien présentée, avec des ingrédients de qualité. Mention spéciale pour le sandwich au steak, qui est absolument délicieux, un vrai coup de coeur ! L'ambiance du restaurant est chaleureuse & conviviale, parfaite pour passer un bon moment en couple, entre amis ou en famille. Je recommande fortement cet endroit & j'y retournerai sans hésiter !
J'ai récemment essayé Deville Dinerbar & mon expérience est mitigée.
Le point positif, c'est clairement l'ambiance & le décor. Le restaurant est beau, moderne & l'atmosphère est agréable, ce qui rend l'endroit intéressant pour sortir entre amis. Le service était aussi correct dans l'ensemble.
En revanche, j'ai été déçu par la qualité gustative. Le steak était trop cuit par rapport à la cuisson demandée, ce qui enlève beaucoup de plaisir. De manière générale, les saveurs étaient assez simples, avec un assaisonnement qui semblait limité au sel & au poivre, sans réelle profondeur.
Ce n'est pas une mauvaise expérience, mais pour le prix & la réputation, je m'attendais à mieux au niveau du goût. Un endroit agréable pour l'ambiance, mais la cuisine pourrait être améliorée.
