Excellente expérience dans ce restaurant ! Le service était attentionné & professionnel du début à la fin, ce qui a vraiment rendu le moment agréable. La nourriture était savoureuse & bien présentée, avec des ingrédients de qualité. Mention spéciale pour le sandwich au steak, qui est absolument délicieux, un vrai coup de coeur ! L'ambiance du restaurant est chaleureuse & conviviale, parfaite pour passer un bon moment en couple, entre amis ou en famille. Je recommande fortement cet endroit & j'y retournerai sans hésiter !

J'ai récemment essayé Deville Dinerbar & mon expérience est mitigée.
Le point positif, c'est clairement l'ambiance & le décor. Le restaurant est beau, moderne & l'atmosphère est agréable, ce qui rend l'endroit intéressant pour sortir entre amis. Le service était aussi correct dans l'ensemble.
En revanche, j'ai été déçu par la qualité gustative. Le steak était trop cuit par rapport à la cuisson demandée, ce qui enlève beaucoup de plaisir. De manière générale, les saveurs étaient assez simples, avec un assaisonnement qui semblait limité au sel & au poivre, sans réelle profondeur.
Ce n'est pas une mauvaise expérience, mais pour le prix & la réputation, je m'attendais à mieux au niveau du goût. Un endroit agréable pour l'ambiance, mais la cuisine pourrait être améliorée.
Friendly & attentive service with food that is decadent, creative & an all around flavor bomb! Their Mac n cheese is next level, but if you want something lighter, their steak salad is the perfect blend of tangy, spicy & savory! 10/10 no notes.
We reserved at this restaurant because of the name, we honestly chose it for that BUT so glad we did. What a GEM! The food was amazing, we actually can't stop thinking about the app we ordered (Mac & Cheese wontons) & the ribeye I ordered melted in your mouth. I do have to say the time to get our drinks was absolutely absurd but they were slammed so I'll still give a 5 star because the service was nice & the food is worth the 2 hour drive. We will definitely be returning to try other dishes but in the meantime we highly recommend the Short Rib Mac & Cheese, the ribeye steak & the Mac & Cheese wontons!
Returned to this restaurant & again, it was fabulous. The food was delicious, the apps were amazing & the service & atmosphere were even better then the last time! Added photos of this round of food as well! Highly recommend!!
Absolutely loved this place, staff was stellar, the chef came out & chatted a bit. The fork & knife Caesar salad was incredible, I've come back home & it's the main thing that stuck out to me. No idea how a salad struck me so well, but it was amazing.
I had a steak sandwich too, just to try, wasn't my favorite, but I don't think I like steak sandwiches, I was just trying something new. The bread was amazing though & freshly made. The drinks were also very good, & the bar tender was very friendly.
Unlike much of Montreal the music wasn't exploding my eardrums & it was a nice comfy spot. Does close a little early, but highlight recommend if you're looking for a bite!
This was my second visit to this restaurant after the first time a little over a year ago. I was introduced to this restaurant by a group of coworkers & being back in Montreal with family, I could not wait for them to discover it as well.
Service was stellar, our waitress Manon was very helpful & more than anything else, truly enjoyed her work. She was smiling all dinner long, offered to take a picture of the table, & served our food at the perfect pace.
Food was delicious, we all tried something different & everyone loved their meal. I had the steak frites & it rivaled the best steak house restaurants I've been to. Definitely the best value I've had for a cut of steak at a restaurant in a while. Cooked to perfection & don't even get me started on the peppercorn sauce.
Now living far & being back in Montreal for a short visit, it's definitely nice to eat at unique spots that deliver on food, service & decor. Was it the cheapest meal we had during the trip? No. Was it the best? Definitely yes & while it's more expensive than a chain restaurant, the price difference is so little that it's irrelevant. & I dare you to find better value or a better meal for your money. I visited Toronto a couple weeks back & we ate at a restaurant twice this price that wasn't even half as good as Deville Dinebar.

C'était ma deuxième visite dans ce restaurant après la première fois il y a un peu plus d'un an. J'ai découvert ce restaurant grâce à des collègues &, de retour à Montréal en famille, j'avais hâte qu'ils le découvrent eux aussi.
Le service était impeccable, notre serveuse Manon était très serviable &, plus que tout, elle semble vraiment apprécier son travail. Elle a souri tout au long du repas, a offert de prendre une photo de la table & a servi nos plats à un rythme parfait.
La nourriture était délicieuse, on a tous essayé quelque chose de différent & tout le monde a adoré. J'ai pris le steak-frites & il rivalisait avec les meilleurs steakhouses que j'ai visité. C'est sans aucun doute le meilleur rapport qualité-prix que j'ai eu pour un morceau de viande au restaurant depuis longtemps. Cuisson parfaite, & ne me parlez même pas de la sauce au poivre.
Vivant maintenant loin & de retour à Montréal pour un court séjour, c'est vraiment agréable de manger dans des endroits uniques qui offrent une cuisine, un service & un décor exceptionnels. Était-ce le repas le moins cher qu'on a mangé pendant le voyage ? Non. Était-ce le meilleur ? Absolument, & même si c'est plus cher qu'une chaîne, la différence de prix est si minime qu'elle n'a aucune importance. & je vous mets au défi de trouver un meilleur rapport qualité-prix ou un meilleur repas. J'ai visité Toronto il y a quelques semaines & on a mangé dans un resto deux fois plus cher, qui était deux fois moins bon que le Deville Dinebar.
Mention spéciale : des cocktails vraiment délicieux !
Ça vaut vraiment le coup d'y aller ! J'y retournerai lors de mon prochain séjour à Montréal.

'Love it! The staff day & night are so welcoming & attentive. Steak & baked ziti were delicious . Breakfast was too sweet for me. Apple Dutch pancake was a sticky toffee dessert not really a breakfast dish. The lightness & flavour of the waffles were réminiscent of donuts. Thé atmosphère was nolstalgic & lively with relaxed & energetic vibe. Fun night out!'
First time visiting this restaurant for my wife & I on this particular visit (out of numerous) to Montreal. It was my idea to try a restaurant we haven't been to before. The food did not disappoint. I ordered the 12 oz steak frites. My wife ordered the seafood pasta & both were fantastic. Our only minor complaint was where we were seated & felt a little cramped for our liking. We would have preferred a booth, but that's a very minor concern. The most important was the food & the service we received, both of which were well up to par.
Absolutely delicious! The service was awesome, & the atmosphere had great vibes. We had a fantastic time, especially thanks to our waitress Jana, who went above & beyond. Highly recommend the steak with bacon jam, Jalapeno corn bread & the Bad Girl Pasta- all were outstanding. We're already planning to go back soon!

My boyfriend & I came to Montreal to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday & went here on our last day in town on Sept 1. Staff were amazing, food was amazing & service was amazing. We ordered calamari & lettuce bulgogi tacos which I believe which was a korean-mexican fusion dish to start which were bomb. We then both grabbed a burger each & asked for bone marrow on the side because we had never tried it before. I got the fat cat burger & it was both our favourite burger of the two (forgot the other one). Would not recommend the marrow how we got it but on the steak as the menu has it would definitely be amazing. Our server was absolutely wonderful. She made sure to check up on us every little bit & would check in to make sure our experience was as amazing as it should be. I unfortunately forgot her name but thank you so much!! :) We would definitely recommend this to friends visiting Montreal & would go back again.
The last couple of times i went there was in the evening & had a good experience. So we wanted to try their brunch today. Long story short, i didn't like my plate at all (i took the steak chimichurri). I tried to force to eat it but i couldn't finish it. The 2 stars are for the waitress who was amazing & very kind & friendly. 1st the chimichurri didn't look like what is supposed to be (see picture), & didn't taste good. 2nd the steak had a weird taste with zero flavour. My friend took the exact same plate & hers was tasty & tasted very different from mine. So we didn't know what happened. We made the remark to the staff & the owner came in a VERY aggressive way trying to explain that it's "impossible" that the meat cannot taste good & tried to argue with us without even saying sorry once. We had to cut it short. Since we are the customers who ate the plate we know what we're talking about. It's very unfortunate that an owner of a restaurant like this doesn't have any sense of customer service, things like this in restaurants happen & it's important to take the critics. But the rest of the staff was understanding & kind.
I will definitely come back to deville. We ordered a lot of food including: ribs, steak salad, burger & fries, & dessert. The cocktails are to die for & the ambiance is nice.

This place def is not as great before Covid as it was the best of the best in term of price & quantity along with taste in 2015-2019 era but as we know everything changed for restaurants after covid. It still is a great place for meatball pasta which is one of the best cities, & their wide dessert selection. The sandwiches & burgers got very pricy for what it is as now you are little cheaper than the 5 star steakhouse burgers & hotel bars burgers. However, I still think this place still one of the best comfort food place in the city.
The food was quality for the price. I would recommend that they include a small salad with the steak frites. The best part of the restaurant was the hospitable, friendly & helpful service of Nada. We will definitely come back.
I had the Umami Steak Frites with the Bone marrow added on & it was amazing. Perfectly cooked & seasoned to perfection. My wife ordered the Bad Girl pasta & it was very good. We both agreed that my dish was far superior, & that may have taken away from her dish. The service was amazing & the mixed drinks were perfection (although very expensive). As of posting this review, this has been my best meal on my trip to Montreal & we have one more day to go. 4 stars for the food only because my wife's dish wasn't as amazing as mine & the prices are on the expensive side.
