Overall, Dandy is portrayed as a popular all-day brunch spot in Old Montreal, known for its ricotta pancakes and a very crispy fried chicken sandwich, generous portions, and a friendly, efficient staff; the vibe is lively and stylish, with good coffee and drinks, but weekend lines and occasional inconsistencies in service and pricing can affect some visits; nonetheless, many reviewers say they would return to try more items and praise the atmosphere and the standout dishes that keep drawing them back.
Sept 2024 -Didnt like it. ordered chicken sandwich, ricotta pancake & breakfast avocado toast. All were OK. Food is overrated. Ambiance is good though. Coffee was OK too.
We had the everytime summer breakfast, the chicken sandwich with potatoe sides & Peach-Ginger-Icetea - everything was really delicious. The service was friendly & courteous, but it was really noisy.

Lovely breakfast, friendly service & very cool atmosphere. Highly recommend & would definitely go back to try the buttermilk chicken sandwich which I saw on every other table lol
Wow! That's all I have to say. I ordered the Ricotta pancakes & I was completely blown away. It was beautiful. I took a bite from a friend's chicken sandwich & wow! Applause. This was a delight. The food is pricey but worth it.
Great brunch spot! Absolutely loved the buttermilk fried chicken & the pancakes are also delicious. Be prepared to wait in line for a bit though on busy days!
Arrive early, we showed up just before they opened at 10am but there was already a line so we had to wait 1hr for second city. I initially regretted the wait but not after the meal! Chicken sandwich was fantastic & my daughter's loved the pancakes
The food was not very good. There was too much seasoning on the chicken sandwich we couldn't eat it. The atmosphere was nice & clean inside. The wait staff was busy but cordial. The The food was just below mediocre.

I got the chicken sandwhich with egg on top & a side of bacon & smashed fingerling potatoes. The bacon was OK, & maybe not worth the extra cost. The potatoes were great. The chicken sandwhich was fantastic. Sunday morning branch, got there around 1030, waited about 45 minutes in line. Was it worth it? Yeah, I think so.
Cute restaurant & generally decent food. However, I felt the wait was too long (both to get a seat & for the food to arrive). On top of it, I was served with the wrong order :( While the chicken sandwich was nice, I found it too greasy for my taste.
Visited later afternoon on a Monday, so it wasn't too busy. I sat on the patio, with its cute yellow & white striped umbrellas. All the servers were super friendly. Iced matcha was one of best I had, just the right amount of sweetness. I had the chicken sandwich, which is so giant with its two chicken breasts, but still felt rather light. I feel like this is the type of place to share a few menu items.
With the line we had to wait in before getting in, the hype around Dandy made me excited for what was to come. I ordered the Buttermilk Fried Chicken & accompanied that with a Mimosa. I really enjoyed the Buttermilk Burger, the bun was soft & the chicken was full of juice & flavour, my only gripe was that the bacon that i had as a side was dry & brittle. The Mimosas were pretty good as well. The day I was there the place was very packed but the service was still good, but not great, because we had a bit of a wait time. The atmosphere is nothing to write home about, during my time there, the place felt crowded & small. But this place would be a nice spot to go on a Sunday Morning for brunch.
Great spot in Old Montreal! Glad our hotel recommended it. We had the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich & the sourdough half avocado dishes. Both were excellent! You can't go wrong.

I went for brunch & the brunch menu was simple, but very original, sophisticated & delicious with good portions. There were three of us & I ordered the yummy salad which is fantastic & definitely filling.. my friends' orders included the pancakes & the fried chicken. Wow, both amazing as I got to sample theirs as well. The service was impeccable. The atmosphere is lively ands bustling but we could hear each other talk. It said it would be 20 to 40 estimated price however I found it to be more in the $40-$60 range. Each person if you include drinks & tips. So more steep price than the usual brunch, nevertheless, I highly recommend this place for brunch. It's too bad they don't take reservations because I would go there a lot more. PS, the mimosas & margaritas are wonderful. We didn't have any desserts, but I can tell you looking at it, it looked good.
Upon arriving at the restaurant, my companion & I were warmly greeted by the hostess & promptly seated, although we did have to wait about 40 minutes for a table during the busy lunch rush. However, the friendly service & impeccable attention from the waitstaff made up for the wait. We opted for the avocado breakfast toast & the crispy chicken sandwich. While the avocado toast was delicious, served in a deep plate made it difficult to cut the bread comfortably. I'd suggest they serve it on a flat plate for easier enjoyment. As for the crispy chicken sandwich, it was an absolute delight. The chicken was flavorful, & the crust was soft & easy to eat. The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting, making it a perfect spot for brunch. Overall, despite a minor inconvenience with the avocado toast plate, I would highly recommend this place for a delightful brunch experience.
I had a weird feeling about having shredded apples with chicken! But omg 😍 the buttermilk chicken was amazing 🤩 the pancakes were also good, but in general very high quality food, definitely try it
We finally got around to trying @dandy.mtl to see if it lived up to the hype. They don't take reservations but we only waited about 15 minutes at 10:45am, not too bad. We were served extremely quickly & ordered delicious, satisfying, Ricotta Pancakes covered in luscious syrup & the buttermik fried chicken sandwich featuring some of the best crispy, delectable fried chicken we've ever had. We washed this down with a delightful maple latté. We finished & were driving home by 11:30am. We don't eat slow but, while everything was excellent (service included), we did feel the overall atmosphere is fast paced & a little rushed. Personally, the opposite of the feeling we want on a Sunday morning but food-wise, yes, it does live up to the hype.
