Overall, Dandy is portrayed as a popular all-day brunch spot in Old Montreal, known for its ricotta pancakes and a very crispy fried chicken sandwich, generous portions, and a friendly, efficient staff; the vibe is lively and stylish, with good coffee and drinks, but weekend lines and occasional inconsistencies in service and pricing can affect some visits; nonetheless, many reviewers say they would return to try more items and praise the atmosphere and the standout dishes that keep drawing them back.
Decent place with subpar service. Food is definitely super overrated, even compared with other local brunch options. & you can get less grumpy service like literally anywhere else in the city. I was really looking forward to the chicken sandwich, but that ended up being only decent as well. The texture of the chicken was good, but the filling in the burger was too mustardy & didn't go well with the chicken for me.
Had a great Saturday brunch at Dandy's on St. Jacques Street. We were 4 & had a 30 minute wait. Outside seating was available sooner. We wanted to experience the restaurant & were glad we waited.
Super pretty restaurant with a great vibe. Service wasn't the fastest because it was packed, but everyone was very friendly.
After all the recommendations & reviews, I had to try the signature Ricotta Pancakes with maple brown butter sauce & lemon cream. They were so amazingly good !
My friends each had the Smoked Salmon Toast with poached egg, dill pickle cream cheese, heirloom tomatoes, fresh herbs, arugula, & lemon on thick house bread. They loved it. I got to sample it too & agreed.
We also shared a great fresh Green Salad with mixed greens, shaved fennel, toasted almonds, & Italian vinaigrette.
The people who had been waiting in line beside us ended up seated next to us & offered us a taste of the Crispy Smashed Fingerling Potatoes. They were fabulous.
Was happy we waited. Great food, great atmosphere, & a really enjoyable brunch experience. 🥞🥗☕?✨😊
I came here because of the hype.
I ordered the fried egg platter was not rich at all.
My wife ordered the salmon platter also was not rich as well.
The high carb platters from what I have seen are the rich ones so if you wanna eat healthy not the place to go.
The waiter with the braids was very rude when I asked about our food as a table made up of 6 people got their food before us & we ordered before them & what is even worst they have the same platters as us!
Nice atmosphere. Quick service. The ricotta pancakes were really good. The brown butter was really nice. The pasta was pretty good. The salmon toast was good.
Dandy is absolutely worth the visit! The food was delicious, very filling, & clearly made with care. The service was also excellent, friendly, attentive, & welcoming from start to finish. Just keep in mind that it's first come, first serve, so there can be a wait for a table during busy times. Even with the line, the experience & quality of the food made it completely worth it. I'll definitely be coming back!

I ordered a chicken burger, which was absolutely delicious. One of the best pieces of fried chicken in a burger I've ever had, for quality & taste. I'm leaving out a fifth star because the meal came with no sides, & the feel of the restaurant was that you were a little bit crowded with the nearby tables.
Great brunch restaurants, been going for years, the quality & service are consistent. Good coffee, fresh ingredients, they have the best home fries (smashed potatoes style, very crispy). 100/10
Like avocado was more raw than I'd allow myself to eat at home
Some cold salad with whatever sauce
Piece of bread & 3 slices of horrible dry bacon
Oversalted crusty egg
Cappuccino just sucks
I have very rarely witnessed a more tragic scene that having this dish on the menu
Hype without a single good thing to say. Shocking

Food was very good & the service was excellent - attentive without being overbearing, just the right level of service. The tables are a bit close together, so you can hear nearby conversations at times, but overall it was a great experience. Definitely worth trying if you're visiting Old Montreal.
Honestly, I don't mind standing in line for a long period to try something good but for this place I do not get the hype. I got the ricotta pancakes & it was just ok. Do not understand why there's such a long line always.
Amazing staff & wonderful service. Special thanks to the barista, & the back of house for being so lovely. The owner was really kind & clearly the team is passionate about their work. Amazing to see such a great kitchen who cares about their delicious menu!
