L'équipe est vraiment fun & vous accueille avec un beau sourire. Gros coup de coeur pour la limonade fruit de la passion 🤩
With the line we had to wait in before getting in, the hype around Dandy made me excited for what was to come. I ordered the Buttermilk Fried Chicken & accompanied that with a Mimosa. I really enjoyed the Buttermilk Burger, the bun was soft & the chicken was full of juice & flavour, my only gripe was that the bacon that i had as a side was dry & brittle. The Mimosas were pretty good as well. The day I was there the place was very packed but the service was still good, but not great, because we had a bit of a wait time. The atmosphere is nothing to write home about, during my time there, the place felt crowded & small. But this place would be a nice spot to go on a Sunday Morning for brunch.
I went for brunch & the brunch menu was simple, but very original, sophisticated & delicious with good portions. There were three of us & I ordered the yummy salad which is fantastic & definitely filling.. my friends' orders included the pancakes & the fried chicken. Wow, both amazing as I got to sample theirs as well. The service was impeccable. The atmosphere is lively ands bustling but we could hear each other talk. It said it would be 20 to 40 estimated price however I found it to be more in the $40-$60 range. Each person if you include drinks & tips. So more steep price than the usual brunch, nevertheless, I highly recommend this place for brunch. It's too bad they don't take reservations because I would go there a lot more. PS, the mimosas & margaritas are wonderful. We didn't have any desserts, but I can tell you looking at it, it looked good.
Loved the brunch menu. It was worth standing in line for 45 minutes. The only problem is the long queue for brunch on the weekends.
Highly recommend mushroom toast!! It's worth the long line for weekend brunch
Dandy is a super popular breakfast/brunch resto in Old Montreal that fills up very, very quickly. A small bakery window faces a rectangular eating area fronted by a large arch & backed by an even larger window facing St. Jacques street. The menu itself is relatively limited with seven options listed (along with a few sides & whatever is available at the baked good counter at the front), but there is something for everyone...sweet, savory, breakfast item or lunch. For our meal we ordered the Ricotta Pancakes (good but a little on the dry side, although the maple syrup mix at the bottom of the dish was quite nice) & Mushroom Toast (also good, savory & large) coupled with the baked Butter Tart (yummy...you can never go wrong with a butter tart). Service was friendly & efficient with the meal coming out promptly (although we were one of the firsts to get our order in). NOTE: The restaurant opens at 10am & the line starts to build at 9:45am, if not earlier, so if you arrive at around 10:15 then expect to wait 45 minutes until the tables turn & new patrons are cycled through. Enjoy!
Upon arriving at the restaurant, my companion & I were warmly greeted by the hostess & promptly seated, although we did have to wait about 40 minutes for a table during the busy lunch rush. However, the friendly service & impeccable attention from the waitstaff made up for the wait. We opted for the avocado breakfast toast & the crispy chicken sandwich. While the avocado toast was delicious, served in a deep plate made it difficult to cut the bread comfortably. I'd suggest they serve it on a flat plate for easier enjoyment. As for the crispy chicken sandwich, it was an absolute delight. The chicken was flavorful, & the crust was soft & easy to eat. The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting, making it a perfect spot for brunch. Overall, despite a minor inconvenience with the avocado toast plate, I would highly recommend this place for a delightful brunch experience.
Brunch was excellent. I will be back for their fried chicken sandwich.
Overpriced & small plates- I got pancakes & they were small & not fluffy, what's the point?. Also, long waiting line (can wait 1-2h). NOT WORTH IT. Montreal has too many brunch places to settle for this.
We came here for brunch as we had read about the pancakes. We came on a weekday, so just the standard toppings for the pancakes were available. While we were initially disappointed, when it came out there was nothing to be disappointed about! They were amazing. We would definitely recommend coming here if you're having a craving for some great pancakes. We also had the maple oat latte, which was delish too.
A great spot for brunch in Old Montreal. Food was generous & delicious. Service, excellent. Would definitely come back!
Always wanted to try this place for brunch for a couple years since it's "famous", but it's always huge line up outside on weekends. Finally went in recently, but was quite disappointed tbh. The menu is so small & everything is insanely overpriced. They are all very small portion, including the coffee (in a tiny glass cup) without free refill, unlike many other brunch places. Quality is just acceptable. With that price & the small portion, you'd hope the taste would be much higher than it is. Won't go back...
I had an initially skeptical but ultimately delightful experience at this restaurant. Despite the cold weather & the possibility of it being a tourist trap, I decided to wait in line based on positive recommendations. Arriving at 11:30 am on a Sunday, I waited for an hour for a table for two. Once seated, everything went smoothly-the server was attentive, & the food arrived promptly. I must say, it was absolutely worth both the wait & the hype. This brunch stands out as one of the best I've had in a while. Even as someone who isn't fond of salads, I found theirs to be exceptional. However, I do have one piece of feedback: the hostess could improve communication & acknowledgment of those waiting in line, especially those outside. It's frustrating to wait without any idea of the wait time or how many people are ahead in line. Overall, an outstanding experience that's worth recommending. Also, it would be great to see more gluten-free options on the menu.
Cute place in Old Port. It's wasn't too busy. We got a table the second we got in. I'm not gonna lie I came for the pancakes. I was told they were the boom. Com!!! We had the avocado toast & the pancakes for dessert. Good portions!! As for the pancakes, they were OK. I cant say they were the best I ever 6. The fluffiness was missing for me but overall. It's a good spot for brunch
