Review Summary

Creperie Au Tournesol is described by reviewers as a cozy, authentic creperie with a warm, friendly atmosphere and attentive staff. The onion soup is repeatedly praised as outstanding, and the crepes and salads are delicious with generous portions and thoughtful garnishes. The menu offers plenty of choice and Breton flavors, and many note watching the crepes being made adds to the experience. Reservations are advisable because the place is popular, and calling ahead can help avoid disappointment when items run out. Payment is often cash only or via Interac e transfer, with card payments not accepted in several visits. The ambiance is rustic and homey, sometimes with a chalet-like vibe, and the terrace can be a nice option in good weather. Some reviews mention minor drawbacks such as stock shortages, a lack of an accompanying salad with some dishes, or the interior getting warm during busy times, but overall the sentiment is highly positive and many say they would return when in the area.

Best french onion soup I've ever had! The crepes are also fantastic (& huge). We will be back!

Took my wife & my brother & his wife & had a tremendous experience. The owner was very accommodating & personable, & really ingratiated herself to all her guests. Most staff spoke English & French, & all the crepes we ordered were prepared to perfection, especially the dessert, banana, chocolate, & ice cream! What also made an impression on us was that the French- Canadian-run restaurant had a menorah proudly displayed on a corner shelf, as well as a sculpture of the Western Wall. When I asked her about these items, she said a Jewish customer gave her the Menorah, but she bought the Western Wall sculpture, & that the Jewish community in the area has been very supportive, & she deeply appreciated the friendship it provided. It's a gutsy move, but she said anyone who didn't approve of the Jewish symbols were welcome to get their crepes elsewhere.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a charming restaurant that truly exceeded my expectations. Our experience began with their French onion soup, which was simply outstanding. The broth was rich & flavorful, topped with a perfectly melted layer of cheese that made every spoonful a delight. Next, we indulged in their crepes, which were nothing short of fantastic. Each crepe was light & delicately filled with fresh ingredients. The service was another highlight of our visit. With a family of ten, we often encounter challenges, but the staff here was incredibly accommodating. They greeted us with warmth & ensured that our dining experience was smooth & enjoyable. Overall, this restaurant is a must-visit. From the delicious food to the excellent service, it's a place I can't wait to return to!

My wife & I love French onion soup. The Creperie Au Tournesol has THE BEST onion soup we have ever had. The owners are great as well, friendly & made us feel welcomed. Make this a stop during your stay in the Laurentians.
