About

Côte Café provides a selection of flaky, buttery pastries baked until golden and crisp. The display cases feature a variety of savory sandwiches layered with fresh greens, sharp cheeses, and cured meats on rustic, crusty bread. Each item emphasizes natural textures and honest flavors, ranging from the delicate crumb of a sweet croissant to the hearty crunch of a toasted baguette. Strong coffee and herbal infusions accompany the menu to balance the richness of the baked goods. The atmosphere remains centered on simple, clean preparations that prioritize quality components. These items offer a grounded approach to food where the focus stays strictly on the interplay between soft dough and vibrant fillings.

Fantastic coffee, as someone who rarely enjoys drinking coffee. 100% worth the caffeine sensitivity spike & crash, which I say even less, & which was mitigated by my stay inside the café.

The ambience is incredible, decor & live plants galore makes it feel like a marvellous retreat inside of a busy city, with the option to nestle inside with cozy cushions or sit alongside the windows enjoying sunlight & bustle at once a few steps away & psychologically safely removed, with your body mainly covered by the generous foliage of a variety of plants providing a feeling I can only describe as how I imagine a nature documentary crew must feel. Despite being seated at the corner of two fairly busy if narrow streets in the daytime, the fantastic noise isolation & classical/operatic radio accompanying the gentle sounds of a solo barista calmly at work makes for a peaceful experience reading or studying or writing. Even the colour & texture palettes of the interior decor are far from offending for either being too bland nor too garish, such that the mind has enough to keep enticed visually as well as auditorily & olfactorily, & not overwhelm.

I've long since run out of coffee now but the aftertaste still lingers, as I suspect it all will for much longer after I part. For all my difficulties with sensory sweet spots separately, this café has managed to hit them all at once. I hope many more citizens too will find their five senses & memories graced by an experience here, one peaceful coffee at a time.

5/5.
