Review Summary

Comptoir St-Jo in Lachine is described as a warm neighborhood cafe with a welcoming vibe and a strong sense of local flavor, where fresh offerings like bagels, breakfast sandwiches, croissants and a thoughtful wine and beverage selection pair with excellent coffee. Reviews highlight friendly, attentive service and a cozy, bright atmosphere that feels both casual and well put together, with a pleasant waterfront terrace noted by many. The place is valued for its use of local products, the variety of foods and drinks, and the easygoing yet reliable hospitality that invites repeat visits. Occasional drawbacks include inconsistent service, occasional table cleanliness concerns, and perceptions of price relative to portions, but overall Comptoir St-Jo is seen as a charming, dependable local gem worth returning to for good food, drinks, and a welcoming vibe.

I've visited 3 times during the last 4 months of 2025. The iced coffee is great. The food is usually good but we've noticed it can change quite a bit, for instance, the last time we ordered 2 chocolate chip cookies (which we have tried in the past), one of them had no chocolate inside, just the ganache on top.

Service is a hit or miss. Some of the staff are not friendly at all, sometimes the tables were not clean, we had to ask a couple of times to clean them.

Tables outside in the sunroom cannot be moved & they are very close together. It's not functional for groups of more than 2 people.

We like the variety of options inside the store.

Very nice! Ordered affogato! Although I was influenced by my friend, I definitely feel like it's not for me, the bitter does overpower the taste of the ice cream & despite my love for bitter stuff. Nevertheless, I felt it was unfair to put less than 5 stars considering it was still very much a good experience & I think I just ordered the item that didn't fit my tastes rather than it being that it's actually bad. The worker cleaning & the cashier were both very nice & respectful. It's also very well-decorated & carries a very homey feeling, so the atmosphere was very welcoming for customers. I see myself absolutely coming back some other time if I ever get to!
