Clockroom Bar feels like a hidden gem, tucked beside a tailor shop. We were lucky to get in with no wait, but there was a line when we left.
The concept is great - no menu, just tell them your preferences & they create a custom cocktail. Mine was sweet & fruity, & I loved it. Service was smooth, & they even took our coats at the entrance.
The only downside is the space - it's very small & can feel cramped, with limited seating options (you sit side by side). Great experience overall, just not ideal if you want more comfort or privacy.
I used to come here when I was younger & was never that impressed, until now. I'm sober & was invited on a date so everything I ordered was mocktails. They really knew their stuff! The customization really impressed me & the bartenders were great. My date wasn't that great but still had a great night!

Good not great. The staff is super nice & the drinks are good but it's pricy & the concept (no menus, we customize a drink to your tastes) is gimmicky. They make their mixers in-house so there are very limited options on what types of cocktails they can make on any given evening. The ambiance is meh. Not really worth it in my opinion.
The Cloakroom Cocktail Bar offers a unique, personalized experience-there's no menu. Instead, the bartender chats with you about your tastes & mood, then crafts a custom cocktail just for you. An intimate, elegant spot that turns a drink into an experience.
We came by at around 10pm & didn't have to wait that long…honestly, the complimentary drink that they give you lives rent free in my head! It was soooo good that I had to actually order it. What a great experience as well not having a menu & collaborating with the customer on their drink. You feel like you're really part of the experience. We loved it so much we came back twice during our 4 day girls trip lol
Hands down best cocktail bar experience, & we've had quite a few! Very chill vibes with just the right level of musical ambience. Maximilian & Hugo were amazing at listening & delivering. I personally love ordering custom cocktails wherever I go. But Cloakroom went above & beyond anything I expected. We felt warmly welcomed since the minute we entered. Every single person in our party was blown away by every single drink we tasted. They were not only delicious but often elicited strong emotional reactions. We're out-of-towners seeking out North America's best bars, but if I lived in Montréal I honestly think I'd be a regular here! I hope the place never changes coz I'm definitely coming back in future. All the best wishes to the Cloakroom & its cocktail artists.
Hit or miss. Had a few good drinks but nothing that blows you away. The presentation is minimal, mostly consisting of mumbled words in an already busy & loud space. For an establishment that first & foremost should cater to the customer's taste, I've felt rushed to come up with a drink profile, no guidance from the bartender either. When I threw a couple of ideas for a cocktail, the guy just called me out for not making sense. So if you know what you want, you'll probably have fun, but if you come in expecting a relaxed curated experience, this is not it.
It's a fantastic bar with a unique no menu setup. They ask you questions & make a custom cocktail for you. I go about every other week & I've been inviting people to share this place with!

We waited around 20-30 mins on a saturday night. It is a very cool atmosphere inside with only 25 person capacity, cool music & not too loud. They ask about your taste & favorite flavors to bring a customized cocktail. We werent very impressed but overall not bad. Recommend this place for 1 round of drinks!
Drinks are among the best drinks I've ever had. Classical speakeasy in a great location. No drink menu they'll ask you questions to customize a drink for you.

Cloakroom Bar remains a top-tier speakeasy in Montreal, offering an intimate & exclusive cocktail experience. The hidden entrance & tiny space add to its charm, making every visit feel special.
The cocktails are still expertly crafted, but the experience feels less personalized than before. Previously, bartenders engaged in a deep conversation to tailor your drink; now, they ask three quick questions & get to work. The quality is still there, but the magic of true customization feels a bit diminished.
Still worth a visit, but longtime fans might notice the difference.
Very small, intimate bar with no menu - each bartender will make custom drinks depending on what you like or are craving. My advice: know what liquors, flavours & cocktails you enjoy (& don't) for the best experience.
Insane bar, drink custom, ambiance cozy dans un petit endroit. J'ai adoré la location du bar. Surement les meilleurs cocktails que j'ai bu de ma vie. À essayer en date, en petit groupe, c'est même pas si cher que ça pour des cocktails fait sur mesure.
I can see why this bar is ranked as one of the best in North America. From the semi-hidden door, to the little touches such as the playing cards used for coat check, it's a truly unique experience. The atmosphere is incredible & the staff are so attentive- & while the drinks are pricey, the customization & flavour makes them worth the price. We came a half hour after they opened & were seated immediately, but the small space was filled the entire time they were there, & the bartender told us how on busy nights there can be 30+ minute waits to get in. Highly recommend going early!
