I love this place. Shout out to Ulysse (spelling?) for the absolutely outstanding hospitality. He made me feel welcome & at home (when I was attending solo). & he made the best cocktails.
I highly recommend. Staff here is phenomenal. Just make sure you know what you like. Important as you need to tell the bartenders.
Dès mon arrivée, je me suis sentie observée & jugée. Le serveur & la serveuse nous regardaient constamment, moi & mon amie, d'une façon vraiment inconfortable.
Nous avons simplement pris des photos de nos verres, & à partir de là, ils nous fixaient, chuchotaient & riaient entre eux. C'était très déplacé & non professionnel.
Au lieu de se sentir bien accueillies, on avait l'impression de déranger. Le vibe est mauvais, lourd, & pas du tout chaleureux.
Je viens dans un bar pour me détendre, pas pour me sentir surveillée ou jugée.
Verre IKEA moche, sale (rouge à lèvre), aucune présentation. Pas de foamer, pas de décoration.
Je pensais qu'un bon cocktail englobait la saveur,l'équilibre,& la présentation.
Je ne recommande pas.
Meh. We have been to many speakeasies, & unfortunately this one didn't live up to expectations for us. It is a cool location, we were initially seated in a small room just off the main room, it was nice. We had a good time, we had each two drinks each in pretty rapid succession. There was a party of three other people sat in the room with us, they had multiple drinks as well. We were all ordering & drinking in a very timely manner shall we say. For me the drinks were just average, the gambit here is that you tell them what elements you want (gin, whiskey, liquor forward, fruity, bubbles fruity, etc.) & they create a craft cocktail for you. Personally I didn't love either of my drinks, it kind of felt like some of my elements were lost, & it was not what I asked for, it seemed like they had their drinks & they were trying to put what you asked for within their recipes. But really this review would've been higher but for the fact that one of the employees came in & asked all five of us, two separate parties, if we could move to other tables in the main room to make room for a larger party. We had just begun talking to the other party & were enjoying ourselves when we were asked to move.
If you're going to ask people to move then offer a free drink on the house or something. We were taken into the next room & stuffed between two other parties, it really did not feel good to have to move midway through. We won't be back & cannot recommend this place.
We were excited to visit, we arrived at around 10:30 pm & waited in line for about 30-40 minutes. The line moves fairly fast. Once inside, they have a coat check & the space is intimate & seats about 30ish people. We found the bar seating to be more fun. We got 2 cocktails each & paid 118 Canadian dollars (tip included). If you're looking for a different bar experience & don't mind shelling out for a few crafted cocktails, then I highly recommend this spot!
Les drinks & le service étaient tout simplement parfaits! Je recommande sans retenue. Le bar est très petit, donc arrivez tôt pour pouvoir profiter de cette ambiance unique!
Nous étions un groupe de 5 & avons dû attendre avant d'entrer car le bar est assez intime & ne peut pas accueillir trop de monde à la fois. Mais l'attente a été loin d'être désagréable : le responsable à l'entrée a été incroyablement sympathique, il revenait régulièrement nous voir pour s'excuser & nous rassurer, ce qui a rendu le moment vraiment agréable.
Une fois à l'intérieur, tout était parfait. La barmaid nous a demandé nos préférences pour créer des cocktails sur mesure, & chacun d'eux était un vrai délice. Le service était attentionné & souriant, on sent qu'ils prennent vraiment soin de leurs clients. Nous avons commencé assis au bar, puis, on nous a offert une petite salle plus intime, réservée d'habitude aux groupes, ce qui a rendu notre soirée encore plus spéciale.
Un endroit raffiné, chaleureux & avec un service irréprochable. Sans hésitation l'une des meilleures expériences que j'ai eues à Montréal. Je recommande vivement & j'y retournerai dès que possible !
We slid in at the perfect time, around 6:00. After that it filled up quickly! We both had delicious, nameless cocktails that we got to really communicate a few things we enjoyed & make our order into a bit more of a conversation than a bark. We had a delicious little welcome palette cleanser drink that was grapefruit & beautiful. I love this place so much & would absolutely recommend!!
We waited around 20-30 mins on a saturday night. It is a very cool atmosphere inside with only 25 person capacity, cool music & not too loud. They ask about your taste & favorite flavors to bring a customized cocktail. We werent very impressed but overall not bad. Recommend this place for 1 round of drinks!

I can see why this bar is ranked as one of the best in North America. From the semi-hidden door, to the little touches such as the playing cards used for coat check, it's a truly unique experience. The atmosphere is incredible & the staff are so attentive- & while the drinks are pricey, the customization & flavour makes them worth the price. We came a half hour after they opened & were seated immediately, but the small space was filled the entire time they were there, & the bartender told us how on busy nights there can be 30+ minute waits to get in. Highly recommend going early!
In a word fantastic. If you are in Montréal you gotta visit this place. We are from Calgary & this place was recommended by Shelter Bar. Drinks excellent, Service excellent. Definitely a place to visit if you are in Montréal.
Another amazing speakeasy in Downtown Montreal! The drinks were incredible & affordable. The inside decor had a great vybe to it! I highly recommend checking this place out!
Little bar with no menu. Bartenders are knowledgeable of drinks & can put a nice spin on your cocktails! We visited out of town; highly recommend going right after it opens & before dinner hour as they do get busy & only accommodate 25 people.
Our first experience with this place was amazing, but has been overshadowed by our second. Bad one: The person at the door was the most wild customer service experience I've ever had. That's fine if you have a "no more than 6" policy, but no one in our group was rude to him & he was awful & aggressive right away. That's fine if you turn us away, it happens, but at least treat us with some decency. We brought a large group, hoping to split off in small groups in any way they would allow. No issue if we needed to sit completely apart, if some had to wait in the lobby because the space is so small. We were even making jokes that we would go in 3/3/2 & pretend we didn't know each other. We also came right when they opened to make sure we didn't bother them at rush hour. Ultimately, he just wanted us to leave & would not communicate with us about alternatives. 4 of us ended up leaving, & the 4 newbies went inside. They said it was fine, but they were upset as to how the rest of us were treated & it clouded their experience as well. Also, there was plenty of room for us the entire time they were there apparently. Policy is policy, but at least treat people better when you have to use it. That conversation could have gone 100 different ways that would have resulted in us wanting to come back another time. Good one, 5 stars: For small groups, it really is a lot of fun. Our first bartender was amazing & we loved all the questions he asked us to get us the perfect cocktails. He really made us want to come back again, obviously. 10/10 I would recommend just answering the questions as they ask them, rather than bring up your favorite cocktail & try to get a spin on it. The creations my friends had were delicious & nothing I would have thought of before. Really a one of a kind experience for us!
