Reviews portray Ciccio's as a standout Italian sandwich spot in Montreal, with bread and ingredients highlighted for quality and flavor, especially the muffuletta, porchetta, caprese, and prosciutto sandwiches. The bread is consistently praised for crisp crust and soft interior, the meats and cheeses feel fresh, and the signature ciccio sauce adds a creamy tang. The vibe is retro yet cozy, with limited seating and a preference for takeout, while the service is often warm and attentive but occasionally could be more welcoming or consistent. Some criticism exists over price versus portion size and occasional menu stability with items like muffuletta sometimes selling out; nonetheless the overall experience is described as enjoyable and memorable, making it a must visit for Italian sandwiches in Old Montreal with many reviewers planning return trips to try more items and desserts like pistachio tiramisu and espresso drinks.
I am sharing this review because the experience genuinely stayed with me. I visited the McGill location around 5:30 p.m. on Friday with my husband as a first-time customer & was unfamiliar with the menu. I asked a simple question about whether the bun contained sesame seeds & requested help choosing a basic sandwich.
The staff member was dismissive & unwilling to explain the menu or available options. While my husband does not have any allergy restrictions & could have ordered without issue, the overall service was so unwelcoming that it turned both of us off from ordering.
We ultimately decided to leave, which was disappointing. This was our first visit & will likely be our last. I am leaving this review so the next person does not have to experience the same lack of basic customer service. -1 sta

Had a great experience at Ciccio's. Shoutout to Monica & Matthew for their amazing hospitality. It was my first time meeting Matthew & he was very welcoming, & Monica as always was smiling & providing incredible service. The food was delicious & fresh, & the overall experience was excellent!
Hope management recognizes their hard work & great service. Highly recommend this place for anyone in Montreal looking for amazing sandwiches & friendly staff.
Saiya is incredible. She is always so kind, respectful, & hardworking, & she truly makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. Her positive attitude & care for customers really stand out.
The food is great, but Saiya's service is what makes this place special. She deserves recognition for how consistently amazing she is (& honestly, a raise!). Highly recommend coming here!
The ladies that work here are wonderful, but the guy working the line has a real attitude problem. I told the nice girl at the front that I have a fish allergy & this guy barks up'I'm not making any guarantees.' Buddy, can you at least pretend that you care about your job? This was a few weeks ago so I hope he's been canned since then, but my advice to the owner is to be careful who you hire. This guy is a liability waiting to happen.
To the Ciccio's owners:
Absolutely amazing addition to Montreal. As a major experienced foodie, your bread is fresh, your sandwiches are tasty, your meat is freshly cut, & your drink options are awesome, you also make some very good coffee & hot chocolate! Nic at the downtown location is awesome. Sandwiches are always on par no matter the location. Glad you opened this & I hope you can keep the quality with time (seems to be a very hard & rare thing restaurants in Montreal can do).
My constructive criticism: some of your staff lack experience in the way they communicate or handle customers, which might impact your reputation. Maybe have someone that can lead & train them how to operate in this type of restaurant properly.
Je suis venu il y a quelques mois & j'ai adoré mais cela fait 4 fois que je viens vers 20h & le restaurant est déjà fermé mais pourtant sur le site c'est t'écrit que c'est ouvert jusqu'à 21h !

This review is for the royalmount location but since there's no page for it yet, I'll just write here. Porchetta sandwich is an absolute joke. Since when is porchetta ice cold slices of cold cut? They also let a woman change her babies diaper on a table in the resto….Poor people who will be eating on that table later…Safe to say i won't be eating here ever again.
An adorable diner/café vibe with great flavours for a reasonable cost. The staff were all incredibly kind despite my family arriving about 10 minutes til closing. Would 1000% recommend coming here for a sandwich or simply just the atmosphere!
