Cozy place serving chinese/peruvian fusion. Service was a bit slow. The menu was interesting, cocktails were refreshing. I was expecting the picarones to be deep fried like they do in peru but i think they were baked. But other than that we had a great experience. Food was delicious, just wished i enjoyed dessert more

You can't call a Peruvian dish by its name when its not served as such. I get it, they are creative & have their own fusion; BUT…
We ordered a Lomo & the dish & serving was the size for a two year PLUS the fries (which originally & traditionally) it's part of the dish - they charged extra for the fries (they were an extra charge if you wanted them as a side order) WHAT?!
Its not about the price it's about serving what you are calling it.
The rice came on a separate dish. I brought my oriental friends & i was so embarrassed of the portions for what they paid.
My friend's ceviche was probably two table spoons drowned in lemon juice. They thought it was ramen soup so she asked why the soup was cold. I had to explain & show them pictures of how the actual dish is when you prepare it the way it's supposed to be. They were very disappointed.
The Peruvian name is in it but not the food itself. Maybe consider calling it something else. People won't be dissapointed for not getting what they ordered & actually get to enjoy your creation.
Im not the type to get into reviews etc etc but it does upset me cuando te quieren dar gato por liebre.
Sorry que la foto no esta clara. They even give you a table spoon🙈

Overrated & overpriced. Staple Peruvian items like pisco sour & octopus's were not good ... disappointing for a st valentine date.

The service was great, the atmosphere was perfect. The but, I didn't feel the real peruvian chifa flavor on the dish that I took. I would put maybe, as part of the decoration on the plate a couple of wanton. The portions were small, was no taipa at all.

A neon lit lama welcomes you into this cozy South American fusion restaurant. The chef looked out over the flaming stove to welcome us in. The atmosphere is cozy, the Latin music is smooth & a variety of interesting people sit at the counter or in booths along the back windows. Very friendly & helpful staff. The food seems be a mixture of Peruvian, Asian & other inspiration. Nice variety of share dishes, reasonable drinks menu. Nice place for a low key dinner with friends.

Great interpretation of Peruvian staples, amazing flavors in appetizers, entrees & desserts. Cordial & helpful service. A bit dark for my elder eyes & likewise a bit loud for my aging ears but that seems ot be the standard everywhere

L'on me dit''oui oui ça s'envient.

We were excited to have some peruvian cuisine getting there but we had the surprise that their cuisine has'a Chinese twist'. Most of the menu is made of Chinese style pork, or fried chicken. They only have two or three fish options on the menu, we choose the starter ceviche (which was really good), the other'ceviche' was made of Chinese style cooked pork. I'm not an expert but it really didn't feel like we were eating a ceviche, it wasn't bad but if we wanted Chinese food we would have walked a few blocks away to China Town & would have paid our dinner for much less. The beef dish we had was ridiculously small & pricey. The quantities are ridiculously small, which is why they encourage you to select 3 to 5 dish for 2 persons to share. (But the price is the same as an average full dish you could get somewhere else). Disappointing. Our server was nice though!

Traditionally, Chifa is a fusion restaurant resulting of the Chinese immigrants living in Peru & characterized by the small minimalist style & the huge portions served. Now part of the peruvien traditional food.
This concept has been brought to Montreal & that's make the difference between the other many Peruvian restaurants in town.

Style & decorations are mimic of a traditional peruvien chifa restaurant but fancier.
Food os not served in huge portions neither but, as peruvien myself, I was surprised by the taste, flavours & quality of dishes. We ordered like 4 different items from the menu & none of them was disappointed, on the contrary, we were very pleased & happy of this discovery. So price is justified.

Take a time to observe the kitchen & the chefs working on it through the big glass behind it, is a must see experience.

They have Inca Kola, a must with chifa food.
They have some other diches in the menu not typical of a chifa restaurant but nevertheless are very welcome, like the lucuma ice cream & pisco sour.

Service is there, good & friendly enough to feel treated. They have a terrace outside also to enjoy the summer season.

*review updated after 2 years & still the same. Keep the high standards!

I was looking forward to trying some peruvian chinese food, which I've never had before. The dish I would come back for is the Lomo Saltado. The beef was tender, well seasoned & the tomatoes were a great burst of flavour. The other dishes were also fine, just not as memorable as I was hoping it would be.

It is a littler on the pricier side & reservations are recommended. We walked in with a party of 4 & got seated at the bar which was pretty fun because you could see the different dishes they prepared.

We really enjoyed sharing different plates with our teenage daughters.

The food is a really interesting mix of traditional Peruvian & Asian influences. The seafood was the perfect texture & perfectly fresh, the sauces were delicious, & the mocktail was gorgeous (I want to come back for a cocktail when I'm not driving!).

If you are adverse to spicy flavors, definitely ask for recommendations, but my teenagers were fine with most of the spice, just the octopus sauce was too much for them (my husband & I were thrilled to eat the part they couldn't finish! 😅).

The staff was super friendly & professional! I only took off one star for atmosphere because we found the music too loud to be able to talk to each other much, so be forewarned, although many places in Montreal are louder.

We're excited to go back again! ❤?

I had a great time at this Peruvian place in Montreal! Honestly, what a gem. The food is made in front of your eyes & the ceviche & tiradito are fresh & full of flavour. All the dishes were fantastic & I found the service to be at a great pace & very friendly. The salmon ceviche was my favourite but honestly you can't ho wrong with any option!
