About us
Chifa is Chef Larrea’s way of sharing childhood memories through his own interpretation of Chinese Peruvian cuisine. Originating from Peru, this Chifa cuisine is the accord of Chinese elements with traditional Peruvian ingredients.

Food was very good

The bartender came to our table & took our clean plates & said do you want dessert ? Hello we had not even got our meal. Let jade do her job 🙄

I was looking forward to trying some peruvian chinese food, which I've never had before. The dish I would come back for is the Lomo Saltado. The beef was tender, well seasoned & the tomatoes were a great burst of flavour. The other dishes were also fine, just not as memorable as I was hoping it would be.
It is a littler on the pricier side & reservations are recommended. We walked in with a party of 4 & got seated at the bar which was pretty fun because you could see the different dishes they prepared.

Nous étions quatre amis, le barman Richard nous a expliqué les cocktails, la serveuse nous a offert de choisir les plats pour nous & tout était bons, goûteux & différents, nous n'avons même pas choisi le vin & ce fut une belle découverte. Très bel endroit à inscrire dans la liste de nos resto préférés.

Seems like a pretty interesting place. Getting a bar seat is nice as you can see them preparing everything.
The service was also really nice as well & seemed quite fast. Though the place seems pretty popular & is a quite packed.
The food was pretty interesting too. Some of the stuff was really good. I especially liked the French fries with the sesame aoli. The beef was so really good, as the flavour mixed with the tomatoes really came out.
Overall pretty solid.

Genuinely incredible find. I had the Purple Dragon cocktail (9.5/10), the chicken & pineapple sauce dish (9/10), & the corn cake dessert (100000000/10). Some of the best food I've ever had, & for dirt cheap. Can't recommend anything better. Staff was incredibly nice & the seat from the bar was fun & atmospheric. The bartender with arm tattoos & the waitress were both kind & personable, & made some incredible recommendations. The waitress made a recommendation for a drink that ended up not being to my friends taste, & she was quick to offer a replacement on the house. Please stop by if you're in the area.

C'est notre 3e visite au Chifa. Toujours parfait. Notre visite précédente remonte à il y a près d'un an. Dalhia nous a reconnus aujourd'hui, sans que nous y fassions référence!. La dernière fois, nous étions assis au bar, où elle a répondu à nos mille questions concernant la préparation des plats. Heureuse de partager sa passion pour la cuisine. Aujourd'hui, elle était au service, qui a été impeccable. Personnalité ensoleillée, ambitieuse, passionnée de la restauration. Notre expérience gustative se trouve rehaussée par la chaleur de son service attentionnée. Chifa est devenu une destination obligée à chacun de nos passages à Montréal.

Visiting Montreal for the weekend we were looking for something a bit different from the many delicious bistros etc. Chifa came up.
Close to our hotel we arrived before 9 pm & sat at the bar. The staff were welcoming & informative.
The play list was Cuban, the menu a fusion of Peruvian & Asian.
The empanadas were excellent, the shrimp also very tasty.
The Chi Jau Kaï Chicken was fantastic - served with rice which we paired with the market vegetables.
The Pastel Cholco was deliciously decadent.
The choice of rum made for a difficult decision.

Belle découverte! Nourriture excellente & personnel super agréable & courtois. Tout était wow! Nous avons mangé au bar devant les plans de travail de deux « artistes » qui préparaient les plats avec une grande minutie, bravo!

Great atmosphere but prohibitive prices for ridiculously small portions, food was rather average. Also, question mark on the hygiene of preparation as I saw the employee preparing the daily cones (raw meat & fish) with her bare hands with no gloves nor protection, something I do not see even in Mc Donald restaurants.. Huge disappointment, I will never return.

Fantastic experience. We were seated at the bar with open kitchen entertaining us. We gave the waiter & chef carte blanche & the Pisco Sours, dishes & wine pairings kept flowing. A night to remember!

Great food & cool vibe! A bit disappointed that we were seated at the bar without having been told that upon reservation. When we asked for a table, we were told they were for 3+ people (even though we saw some tables that only had two people). A bit disappointed, but food & drinks & vibe were great!

This was our first experience trying any sort of peruvian food & we were very impressed. The cocktail menu contained a selection of predictable Pisco drinks, which we had no problem enjoying! Shoutout to any cocktail with passionfruit. For the food it is a fusion of peruvian & Chinese & we took the bartenders recommendations & tried the ceviche Pato caliente, the lomo saltado (the sauce being the highlight here for sure) & the chaufa especiale (fried rice). This was definitely enough food for the two of us. Overall great service & recommendations. We will definitely be back.

We came because of the amazing reviews & kind of disappointed. Food: the seafood dish with the sauces was good but not amazing. I forgot the name of the chicken dish but didn't expect it to be like it was which is fine but just tasted ok. Atmosphere: nice dining atmosphere, cozy & cool Service: it was weird. We had a reservation. We didn't know who the host was & just waited as directed by the sign at the front door. About 5 mins after the hostess came over & apologized for the wait but she had also been standing nearby talking to someone glancing at us every now & then. Then we were going to the bar to be seated but 4 stools were damp wet & the hostess made the wise suggestion to wait for other seats to open & we agreed to that. She had us wait at two stools near the entrance so we could sit & look at the menu. A couple waitstaff did check on us during our wait to see if we wanted to order & we explained what happened. The hostess didn't come back & finally a server asked if we just wanted to order instead there as we had been waiting. I saw a couple open seats in another section & she asked one couple if they wouldn't mind moving a seat over to accommodate us. So after all that it was about 40 mins after our reservation time. Not just for us, but it seems their online reservation has groups booked too close together as we saw others come in & wait staff looking for a table.

The staff greeted us with big smiles & seated us promptly. The bartender was really cool. Made great drinks (see pictures). The atmosphere was great & the food came out quickly. Happy hour is really good there, you can save mucho bucks from 5 to 7pm. Only downside is the location of the bathroom which is a bit of a hike but did not downgrade my experience. Go for the dumplings!! The 4 skewers were fantastic... mushroom, chicken, duck, beef. Server with the tatts is really nice & told my gf that she is really beautiful. Great time!

Très bonne nourriture mais peu de places. Nous avions réservé & nous nous sommes retrouvés au bar. Heureusement, le maître d'hôtel nous a donné une table après qu'elle se soit libérée

Nous avons bien aimé notre expérience, les cocktails incroyables, les plats tout à fait délicieux, le service vraiment excellent mais malheureusement comme dans plusieurs restos/bar la musique est beaucoup trop forte c'est dérangeant!
