Chifa is a chifa restaurant montreal and a chinese peruvian restaurant montreal, representing Chef Larrea’s way of sharing childhood memories through his own interpretation of Chinese Peruvian cuisine. Originating from Peru, this Chifa cuisine is the accord of Chinese elements, expressing the identity of a true fusion restaurant montreal.
Chifa offers a lively Peruvian Chinese fusion that many guests find flavorful, creative, and engaging, with an open kitchen that lets diners watch the chefs at work. The menu is built for sharing, delivering a mix of ceviche, anticuchos, lomo saltado, dumplings, and chow mein, paired with crafted cocktails and attentive service that keeps the atmosphere welcoming. The vibes are described as cozy and buzz worthy, a stylish spot suited for date nights, gatherings, or pre show bites, with friendly staff adding to a warm experience. Some reviews mention that portions can be modest for the price and a few dishes could be spicier or more balanced, yet the overall impression centers on high quality ingredients, thoughtful execution, and a memorable, enjoyable dining journey.
The problem with some "tapas" style restaurants in Montreal is that they charge you 15$+ plus for a small tapa plate, unfortunately. The concept of tapas is small cheap plates to be accompanied by drinks, so this way we can really share & taste different things. Not full plate price. They took several minutes to bring one of our friends tapa, just because we wouldn't share as they "advise". Food is good tho, not the best Peruvian in town, but still good. The ambiance is also nice!

The staff greeted us with big smiles & seated us promptly. The bartender was really cool. Made great drinks (see pictures). The atmosphere was great & the food came out quickly. Happy hour is really good there, you can save mucho bucks from 5 to 7pm. Only downside is the location of the bathroom which is a bit of a hike but did not downgrade my experience. Go for the dumplings!! The 4 skewers were fantastic... mushroom, chicken, duck, beef. Server with the tatts is really nice & told my gf that she is really beautiful. Great time!
The food at this place is just incredible if you like trying fusion cuisine asian/peruvian. The staff is super nice & absolutely passionate I have discovered so many great dishes & drinks from their recommendations. Must try the Pisco Sour 🍹 & the 4 skewers tasting 🍢 as well as the ceviche are my personal favorites. This is really a montreal hidden gem 💎 most restaurant staff from other high end restaurants love to go to this spot to eat & that says a lot. It can be a bit tight & you do need a reservation as it's mostly sold out for the busy nights like Thursday to Sunday.
Charming atmosphere & great location. The anticuchos de pulpo (octopus) were the highlight of the menu (the sauce was exquisite!)! Other dishes varied from good to okay, & drinks were a bit disappointing-I don't think they used pisco in the "pisco sour" (perhaps Brandi?). The picarones came out undercooked inside, hopefully just a bad batch.
It's more like chinese food fusion with Peruvian palate. There's strong wok hei in the fried rice! Impressive with the cook. Setting is great for table of 4, squeeze a bit for cosy cosy 6 😁. Service staff can be a bit hard to gather their attention. Drinks & food came out wrong. Maybe it's a one off. Will visit again to confirm.

We had a very fun Saturday evening. We were greeted with warmth & hospitality at Chifa & the service continue to be excellent with our very charming waiter too. Drinks were excellent. (Purple Dragon & El Sensual were our favourites). Food was ok, but we particularly liked the duck dish & the salmon ceviche. The egg roll was very average for the price & the bao bun although good at 17$ for one is a bit absurd. Nevertheless, if you're looking for a fun evening with friends, don't hesitate to book here. You'll be pleased.

A must try- highly recommended spot for great quality tapas of Chinese-Peruvian fusion food. Amazing service, the staff was very friendly! Thank you to the manager, for the special attention! The drinks were great, but the maracuya sour was perfect! Best quality all around! Thank you for a great experience! Definitely coming back soon! 👌🏼
It's ok.. I don't know why the food is spicy. They use way too many sauces on their plates. Not the best food... there are way better places you can go to. Save yourselves 145$ for 2 drinks & 3 appetizers. Also service needs major improvement. Our expectations were much higher, we left disappointed.
The restaurant had great atmosphere the staff super attentive , the service was quick & efficient & both the food & drinks were just amazing! Highly recommend!
We had a lovely time at Chifa. Food & drinks were superb. I had two pisco drinks & my partner had an excellent gin cocktail. We tried the General Bao appetizer. It was the best version of that I've ever had. We were delighted by the other entrees. In particular their take in the fried chicken was imaginative & well executed. A great find!
Went to Chifa with some friends. Took about an hour to get fried chicken. Asked us for which rice we wanted without specifying it was a 6$ extra. Drinks are 80% ice & overpriced. We left & were still hungry. We ended up going to orange julep. It was more worth it than this.
