Review Summary

Chifa offers a delightful fusion of Peruvian and Chinese cuisines that consistently impresses guests with its creative and flavorful dishes. Many diners highlight the ceviche, skewers, and lomo saltado as standout items, noting that the menu is expertly crafted and beautifully presented. The restaurant is widely recognized for its vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, making it an excellent choice for both intimate dates and lively group celebrations. While some guests find the portion sizes modest relative to the price, the high quality of ingredients and the skill involved in the preparation are frequently praised. The cocktail program, particularly the Pisco Sour, is another major draw that complements the meal. Though service experiences can vary, many visitors describe the staff as professional, friendly, and attentive, contributing to an overall memorable dining experience in the heart of the city.

The dining experience was outstanding. The menu, though limited in size, reflects a clear focus on quality over quantity - a philosophy I greatly admire. Each dish was thoughtfully prepared & beautifully presented. Portions are modest, encouraging the sharing of multiple plates, which allowed us to explore a range of flavors by ordering four different dishes for two people. The only aspect that could be improved is the music selection; a more varied playlist would enhance the overall atmosphere, as the continuous Cumbia can become somewhat monotonous. That said, this is merely a matter of personal preference.

Super chill place honestly with a nice ambiance. The service & staff were amazing, loved the service 😌.
The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because the food was a little too salty for me & all the people on lmy table said the same.
Love their little decor & food selection too. We tasted quite a few dishes that we split to try as many as we could & all were very delicious minus the saltiness.
I definitely recommend this restaurant if you're like a small group, or on a date, you won't be disappointed.

Traditionally, Chifa is a fusion restaurant resulting of the Chinese immigrants living in Peru & characterized by the small minimalist style & the huge portions served. Now part of the peruvien traditional food.
This concept has been brought to Montreal & that's make the difference between the other many Peruvian restaurants in town.

Style & decorations are mimic of a traditional peruvien chifa restaurant but fancier.
Food os not served in huge portions neither but, as peruvien myself, I was surprised by the taste, flavours & quality of dishes. We ordered like 4 different items from the menu & none of them was disappointed, on the contrary, we were very pleased & happy of this discovery. So price is justified.

Take a time to observe the kitchen & the chefs working on it through the big glass behind it, is a must see experience.

They have Inca Kola, a must with chifa food.
They have some other diches in the menu not typical of a chifa restaurant but nevertheless are very welcome, like the lucuma ice cream & pisco sour.

Service is there, good & friendly enough to feel treated. They have a terrace outside also to enjoy the summer season.

I was looking forward to trying some peruvian chinese food, which I've never had before. The dish I would come back for is the Lomo Saltado. The beef was tender, well seasoned & the tomatoes were a great burst of flavour. The other dishes were also fine, just not as memorable as I was hoping it would be.

It is a littler on the pricier side & reservations are recommended. We walked in with a party of 4 & got seated at the bar which was pretty fun because you could see the different dishes they prepared.

I had a great time at this Peruvian place in Montreal! Honestly, what a gem. The food is made in front of your eyes & the ceviche & tiradito are fresh & full of flavour. All the dishes were fantastic & I found the service to be at a great pace & very friendly. The salmon ceviche was my favourite but honestly you can't ho wrong with any option!

The artistry of the food was amazing, & the vibe of the restaurant hit all the right spots. The food, however, fell a bit flat. The dishes were too heavy on soy sauce (Siu mai dumplings) & the ceviche was to lemony, & the other flavours were overpowered by it. The scallops looked amazing, but once again the taste wasn't as good as the look of it. The dragon fruit drink was delicious, as was the cafecito. I'd definitely come back for the drinks & the vibe, but not necessarily for the food which looks amazing, but tastes only ok.
