Chez Mère Grand est un café chaleureux au cœur du Vieux-Montréal, où l'on vient pour un excellent café, des viennoiseries faites sur place et une ambiance cosy qui invite à rester. Les avis mettent en avant la qualité des boissons et des pâtisseries, le croissant et le bostock, le croissant au jambon et fromage, le croissant à la lavande, ainsi que le fameux Canadiano, le tout à un bon rapport qualité-prix et avec un service amical et attentionné. Le cadre, l'accueil et l'atmosphère chaleureuse sont fréquemment décrits comme charmants et à l'ancienne, donnant l'impression d'une maison de grand-maman. Malgré un ou deux retours négatifs mentionnant une interaction difficile avec le propriétaire, l'ensemble des commentaires reste majoritairement très positif sur la fraîcheur des produits, la convivialité et la qualité du café. En résumé, cette adresse est une petite perle locale pour un petit-déjeuner ou une pause café près du port, avec des produits faits sur place et un service sympathique qui donne envie de revenir.
What an amazing place! Great food, Great service, lovely Atmosphere. Such a passion rarely seen outside of france for this type of fare. I thought the ham croissant was good but when we came back the next day the grilled cheese was sublime!
My wife & I were visiting Montreal a couple weeks ago & had to come here to enjoy this gem of a cafe because it was mentioned in a recent murder mystery book by Louise Penny called the grey wolf. We enjoyed a grilled cheese sandwich, a BLT, a latte & a flat white & everything was amazing. We were able to sit & relax & enjoy just being there. Talked with the owner for a bit - really friendly & appreciated hearing our story of coming there because of a story. We'll be back. Definitely recommend!
Great food, extremely friendly host, amazing atmosphere. This place is a gem. Get the grilled cheese with smoked meat. Croissants are also top notch. Coffee was perfection.
This has become a regular stop on our visits to Montréal. It is a delightful spot, with friendly & charming hosts who always welcome us warmly. The drinks are perfectly created, whether hot or cold, & the treats to accompany them are always imaginative & tasty. On this visit we tried & greatly enjoyed their unique grilled cheese. This isn't your average grilled cheese. It's a perfectly grilled masterpiece with a most creamy & delicious cheese & some equally tasty smoked meat. A real treat that I'd recommend highly! So happy there's such a place.

Wow - this place is amazing. Best grilled cheese I ever had. Breakfast sandwiches are superb. Coffee is first-rate. Super cool owners. This place would be 5 stars in Paris!
We stopped by for brunch & it was so lovely. Smoked meat grilled cheese, scone, croissant & coffee were all delicious. The owner was upbeat & very nice. The cafe is also adorable! Highly recommend this place!
Such a cute spot that's easy to access. Very clean & a good vibe - small seating areas but comfortable & very quaint. We were warmly greeted & helped when we walked in. The person at the counter took his time with us & made us feel liked valued customers, even though it was our first time in the cafe. The food & drinks were delicious! We had the matcha latte with almond milk & lavender syrup, the croissant sandwich, grilled cheese & the cheddar scone. We also received some of the peach ginger iced tea that was super refreshing. We'd come back & definitely recommend this little spot 🙂
Wowww coming in the little cafe is like walking into Grandma's house. So warm & inviting! Smells delicious you want to try everything ! I had the fresh grilled croissant ham & cheese sandwich - melt in your mouth! Paired it with an amazing cappuccino with an added heart shaped foam which I thought was the cutest thing. Having trouble leaving. Lollll
My friend brought me here because she loves the place. Coffee was a 10/10 & I still sometimes think about the grilled cheese 🤤 the owner was super friendly as well!
The entrance is beautifully designed with floral, located at the corner of a building. Everything about this cafe is carefully designed & sculpted, so much to take in & see. A comfortable place for a day visit, co-working, reading or just people watching. The owner is super welcoming & funny, he is also super passionate & it shows in his excitement to share the day's specialties & hand-crafted coffees.
My boyfriend & I had the grilled cheese, flakey chocolate danish, flat white ☕ & a cold press drink. Spent a brief 30mins absorbing the spectacular space but definitely needed more time. Will be sure to return & try out everything on the menu.
Definitely one of my favorite cafes to capture photos. Enjoy & hope you may find yourself in this captivating place soon.

Charmant petit café aux portes du Vieux-Montréal. Personnel sympatique. Le grilled-cheese avec smoked-meat est excellent. Seul petit inconvénient; ils n'acceptent que le paiement par débit.
