We stopped by Chez Ma Tante & the hot dogs were excellent - flavorful, well-prepared, & definitely worth coming back for. The poutine was also great, with a generous amount of cheese curds & just the right amount of rich, tasty gravy. A solid spot for classic Québécois comfort food. Highly recommend!View more

Les frites sont délicieuses ainsi que les poutines. Pour les hot dog, ils sont bons mais sans plus. Il manque énormément de condiments dans les hot dog tout garnis. Il n'y a que de la salade de choux & un petit peu d'oignons sans plus. Un peu décevant.View more
I was visiting Montreal & did a little research on where I could get some great poutine. Chez did not disappoint. I'm always a fan of menus that are small, but perfectly executed & Chez is a perfect example of why. If you're going to basically do two items, you better do them perfectly, & they did. The fries, gravy & curds are exactly what I was hoping for, seemingly simple, but well balanced & with the perfect amount of cheese that you almost think is too much, until you realize you ate it all & wish there were more. Highly recommend.
& it doesn't hurt that everyone working there is nice, has pride in what they're doing, & genuinely wants every guest to have an amazing experience. I sure didView more

Le meilleur hot dog dans l'est de la ville! L'ambiance est très charmante & rétro. Service à l'auto très pratique & ils sont ouvert tard! N'allez pas manger des burger chez le clown allez plutôt encourager des gens d'ici en sortant des bars. Seule bémol est qu'il y a peu de places pour manger à l'intérieur mais lorsque le temps est clément il y a plusieurs tables à disposition à l'extérieur donc parfait pour profiter du beau temps! Ce restaurant est un excellent choix pour un roteux & une poutine! (La poutine goûtait meilleure à l'époque sans fourchette de bois)View more

This is probably one of my favorite hot dog place. The hot dog are different than what you usually find in montreal, they dont use like your typical Lester brand like most joints. I love the poutine as well.This place is a must try for hot dog & poutine lovers!View more

Lieu Old school & personnel sympathique. Menu simple mais les classiques y sont. On sait que ça sera bon quand des réguliers passent pendant notre commande. Came here on Saturday December 7th, 2024 around lunch time - Love the exterior decorations for Christmas, there is a nice mural, lots of stickers in the windows & music playing outside. The restaurant is very small & more of a take out counter, with no seating, there is also a drive through. Note they take cash only, there are ATMs on site. We ordered 2 types of hot dogs & a poutine - the hot dogs were good, michigan sauce could have been more flavorful, it was lacking some sweetness. Poutine was a disappointment - the fries were not salted & sauce also lacked some flavor. It was thin & runny, closer to a BBQ type of sauce like St-Hubert style rather than the thick brown gravy. I found everything could have used more flavor. There is only 1 size poutine & it was on the small size. Considering this is some type of historical institution that's been around since 1929, I expected to be charmed but the food was very average & on the expensive side.View more
