They were gracious to accommodate our large party of 6, but it is a very small place & we felt bad. They assured us all was well & treated very kindly with loving vibes. The food was excellent. Crepes, Portuguese stew, full Portuguese breakfast, pastel de nata (as good or better than Lisbon's ...). All excellent! Highly recommend!View more
I had the Déjeuner Portugais Avec Viande for breakfast & it was absolutely delicious-so flavorful! The waitress who recommended it was super friendly, & the freshly squeezed orange juice was a perfect touch. Highly recommend this spot for a great breakfast!View more
I love this place 🥰 we stopped by for brunch, i just had a drink & the pastei, which is to die for!! I think my friends each got the portugese breakfast plate, i tried it & i wished i was hungry enough to eat more but i wasnt that day.
i brought their pasteis with me on the plane for my flight the next morning, & shared them that weekend with my family. I airfried them for 5 mins at 350 & they were just as delicious as i remembered them in montreal :) i will definitely come back here next time im in town 🥰View more
I feel as though this place is a bit of a hit or miss. My first experience was a little underwhelming, as we paid a lot for a meager sandwich & lackluster breakfast plate.
But I decided to give it another chance for dinner a year later & was blown away with how good the food was! The crepe meals were MASSIVE & delicious. Big plus for the atmosphere, their decor is cute & the patio is lovely in the summer to eat outside.
I knock one star though because the prices are very high for it being a casual restaurant, & we did wait over 40min to receive our food, but the waitstaff was very apologetic & nice about that. The food is also quite greasy.View more
We loved this cafe. We had a wonderful breakfast: espresso, omelet sandwiches, & delicious pasteis de natas (just like Lisbon). Service was excellent. Really love the warm colors & eclectic vibe. Can't wait to return.View more
Great for breakfast or lunch! Their soups are amazing!!! Cute little spot tooView more
Really cool vibe & cute decor. Great coffee & food. I ordered the Mexican crepe & flavour wise it was delicious but it was far too salty for me that I struggled to finish it. The Portuguese breakfast that my friend got was also good but nothing spectacular. On the weekend there was a short wait for late morning brunch but that was expected so no complaints. Overall it was quite expensive for a casual brunch. Their pastel de natas are to die for tho!View more
I tried the Portuguese breakfast with an Americano! The dish comes with a salad, mediocre buttered bread, two eggs, sausages, & potatoes. It was really delicious & filling, but I probably wouldn't order it again. The Americano, however, was fantastic, easily one of the best I've had so far! The place has a cozy atmosphere with a charming Montreal vibe, & it's definitely worth a visit. That said, a couple of things could be improved: the bathroom was cluttered with their supplies, & I wish there were hangers or coat racks. They would be especially helpful during the winter in such a small space.View more
Came across this spot while visiting Montreal, & stopped by for breakfast. The atmosphere & service was phenomenal. The ladies at the front are wonderful & super accommodating. The food was fresh & tasted great. Coffee was lovely tooView more
I had a wonderful breakfast experience! The food was delicious & well-prepared, but what truly stood out was the amazing service. The waitress was incredibly kind, attentive, & made us feel so welcome. Her warm attitude added a special touch to our meal. Highly recommend this place for a great start to your day!View more
My bf broke up with my after a fight we had here but no man will ever take away from how yummy the Portuguese breakfast plate & the breakfast sandwich are !! ObrigadaView more
Overall: Cozy cafe with lots of vegetarian & vegan options. Pros: The food & drinks we ordered tasted great (went for breakfast)! Eclectic decorations make this a cozy & unique cafe. Cons: 1) Wi-Fi information wasn't visible. Waitress provided me with the information upon asking, it was handwritten on a piece of paper, the information was hard to read & I couldn't connect to the internet. 2) No kids menu though the waitress had suggestions.View more
One of the best breakfast/brunch restaurant in Montreal/Canada. It's a very cute shop with delicious food & excellent service. I will recommend anyone visiting Montreal to try this place.View more
wow, amazing place!!! Out of the world ! If you like an excellent breakfast this is the place to be. wow!!View more
I went to for brunch for the first time in this café. It was nicely set up & there was even the option to sit outside. I had the Portuguese breakfast plate with salad & Portuguese toast & a hot chocolate. All the food was extremely good, but the only thing I was not satisfied with was that the sliced sausages were too salty for me. Other than that it is a nice cafe where they have a lot of variety in food for a decent price.View more
My boyfriend & I were visiting the City & we were just searching for places to eat brunch, & Cafe Jose came across. & google reviews didn't disappoint. My boyfriend had the Portuguese Breakfast & I had Mexican Crepe breakfast if I'm not mistaken & it was soooo goood & fulfilling. & we had egg tart for dessert, & I had mokkachino. Def gonna be back soonView more
One of the best breakfast meals I have ever had! Authentic Portuguese experience- highly recommendView more
Love this little place, it came highly recommended for breakfast & since I was alone, I was able to jump the line & get right in! The coffee was AMAZING & the meal was delicious, there were fresh nata's behind me too. Gem of a place.View more
This fun eclectic cafe is perfect for brunch & located in a great walkable area! The staff are so polite & the dishes are so good! I had been on the search for pasteis de nata that would taste as good as the ones I had on a trip to Portugal - these are by far some of the BEST! The Portuguese breakfast plate was tasty & the chicken sandwich was so savory!View more
Small hole in the wall. Seems overrated in my opinion. Food was really not that great & service was subpar. We were squished in a corner with barely room to move an inch. I paid 30$ for a latte & a chicken sandwich. Rip off!! There are so many other amazing breakfast spots that do a lot better than this one.View more
Small place but amazing food!!!! Went there to try their breakfast it was quite busy!View more
I had been looking for a breakfast/brunch place that servers something different & unique than regular brunch places which all serve mostly variation of the same thing- just eggs, crepes/waffles/or toasts. The portugese breakfast here was delicious. There are plenty of vegan options as well. The vibe was cool, staff were super friendly & the the menu was aptly priced. Will return for sure.View more
Now with alcohol permit & open at night, Best breakfast & brunch on the plateau. From Portuguese breakfasts with eggs & Chorizo to a wide menu including great vegan & vegetarian options. Mediterranean influence, homemade healthy food, not expensive, generous portions. Funky & eclectic crowd. Friendly staff. Seafood soup every Friday is a must.Terrasse is now open.View more
Great healthy & filling breakfast plates. Small place & crowded, even on weekday morningView more
First off, the outdoor seating is so pleasant & so was the staff. The breakfast sandwich was super packed & flavorful, & the potatoes were cooked to perfection. Our favorite was the Mexican crepe, which was also super flavorful & had nice crispy edges. What made it really stand out was its masterful pairing with their homemade guac & slaw. Well done -what a charming little gem.View more
Cute spot, Nice terrasse. Terrasse was only being set up around 10:15 even though they open at 9 & had a lineup. Even once it was set up it took a while to be seated even though there was space. Our server with the pigtails was fantastic though. Very efficient. Food was alright. Portuguese breakfast platter was nothing special. My friend felt the same about her chorizo omelette. Mochaccino was nice. They didn't skimp on the mimosa.View more
Awesome place for breakfast or lunch. The only downside is the size of the place. Only about 6-9 tables so it can get busy & might have to wait. But it is worth it as the food & service is great. Cool & funky decorations too!View more
Portuguese breakfast goes insano mode. Picture attached for reference.View more
I had to write this review the moment I left this restaurant. I am genuinely impressed by the quality of the food & the speed we got our plates. Not to mention that it was super tasty & delicious, but for a breakfast I had a strong meal, perfectly prepared & well balanced! Charle our waiter was very kind & friendly. The service is great with good recommendations. I was particularly pleased with the Natas & their coffee is really good! This is such a small restaurant but with big potential & even bigger heart! Absolutely recommend!View more
