I eat at fast food restaurants about 3 times a month. Lately, I've noticed a lack of quality at most of the big fast food chains with higher prices. The other day a Simple Dave trio at Wendy's cost me $19.55 & was mediocre. Let's support our local restaurants like Chez Gerard-the all dressed burger was fantastic-loaded with fresh ingredients with more fries than I could finish! Even better the fries are made from 1 ingredient-potatoes! Not 11 ingredients like some chains. My meal cost me $15.86 including a 15% tip!
I went there to introduce the poutine to my friend who came from California. Such a mistake! The poutine was mediocre at best & the burger sandwich was overcooked & dry.
I didn't feel anything special about their food. They were Obviously too much overrated.
The food is great! Can't complain on that. But I ordered a trio burger & replaced the fries with a poutine. Just like any other place they charge you extra for the cheese & the sauce. So far, still fair. But what I was surprised about is to get less fries. So I had to pay extra to get fries removed. & by doing so obviously they use less cheese & sauce. I've asked the owner about the difference, the only answer I got was that I got the poutine, so that's what I'm getting. In the pictures I uploaded you can see the difference in fries size.
Better than "la belle province"!!! Been coming here for over 6 years now, food is always great, service is always amazing & everyone is friendly. Delivery is mostly quick & the restaurant is kept very clean.
I stopped by Gerard Patates after a soccer match with my boys, & we were pleasantly surprised! The staff & owner were incredibly friendly, & the food was fresh & delicious. We ordered a submarine trio & two trio cheeseburgers, & everything was great. While we were eating, the staff surprised us with a complimentary plate of freshly made donut holes-at least 20 of them! It was such a thoughtful gesture, & the kids were thrilled. I can't make it every week, but I'll definitely be back once a month. Long live Gerard Patates!

Credit where it's due, POUTINE was GREAT! Fries were good, cheese was quality & sauce was generous! The rest wasn't as memorable but I'd make a detour for the poutine if I was nearby!
Visiting from Toronto, cousin brought me here. Perhaps the best sub sandwich I've ever had. I love the classic fries & diner atmosphere (kept very clean I might add). Staff are friendly & courteous. Definitely worth a trip to try out the authentic local flavors of Montreal.
Been here since the small establishment 30+ years ago. This is hands down the best poutine I've ever had in my life, & never ceases to be every year I go back. Staff is perfect, the original owners & cooks were gone for the first time today on my visit, but the people they hire are doing a great job continuing the tradition & recipes👌. Very polite & nice, they know what they're doing, flavourful souvlaki & obviously much better seats than they had back in the day. I'm so happy for this place & I've converted many friends visiting who also think the same!
